Four DOCTOR STRANGE Director Contenders Revealed; KUNG FU PANDA Writers Eyed

It appears Marvel is vamping up production on Doctor Strange, with Brave director Mark Andrews among four on the shortlist, but the studio is reportedly struggling to incorporate the Sorcerer Supreme

This came rather unexpectedly. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Marvel Studios has began meeting with directors to finally bring Stephen Strange, aka Doctor Strange, to the silver-screen. According to the source, Mark Andrews, who directed Disney/Pixar's Brave; Nikolaj Arcel, who penned The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and directed the Oscar-nominated indie A Royal Affair; Dean Israelite, who helmed the upcoming found-footage sci-fi film Welcome to Yesterday; and Jonathan Levine, who notably directed Warm Bodies & 50/50, have either met with the studio or will do so soon. In addition, Kung Fu Panda writers Jon Aibel and Glenn Berger are said to be "in the mix" to script the Sorcerer Supreme's story, however, Marvel is seeking a director and a writer to work together, or a filmmaker who could handle both tasks. That's not all: Despite Marvel president Kevin Feige's strong desire to introduce Doctor Strange into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, THR adds that the studio faces a challenge with "incorporating Strange's more outre elements," and meshing "the supernatural elements in a convincing way with the hi-tech & grounded elements" which have already been established in the ever-expanding universe. What do you think?

Dr. Strange and Kung Fu Panda are basically the same story. A foreigner with a disability comes to a high mountain peak in asia and gets trained in magic martial arts by a little asian dude and then fights a mean guy who was trained by the same little asian dude as him.

If Marvel doesn't cast Will Farrell as Dr Strange, they will have made the worst decision ever.

Jonathan Levine is my pick. Warm Bodies was solid and 50/50 was a GREAT drama that I think, just on the dramatic level alone, makes him a great pick.
