Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness underwent extensive reshoots, though it was previously reported that the main purpose of this additional photography was to add even more high-profile cameos. With a confirmed runtime of 2 hours and 6 minutes, the sequel definitely isn't going to be bloated, though we wouldn't be shocked if Marvel Studios struggled to crack that Multiverse concept.

Even with an experienced filmmaker like Sam Raimi at the helm, it sounds like the production hit a few bumps in the road, which is something Bruce Campbell hinted at in a recent interview with Game Informer when he talked about Raimi's unique experience working with Marvel Studios.

"The Marvel guys, they make eight of these movies at the same time, so they're always updating storylines," the actor explained. "So, my buddy Sam [Raimi] has had to add scenes that [Marvel] told him he had to shoot, and he's removed scenes that no longer apply. So until May rolls around I don’t think Benedict Cumberbatch even knows if he’s in this movie or not."

Campbell is likely referring to the fact that he was, at least at one time, set to make a cameo appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Rumour has it [SPOILER WARNING] that he had been cast as Balder, a member of the Illuminati. However, it's widely believed that the actor has been cut in order to make room for a higher-profile, potentially fantastic Variant.

Eternals proved that Marvel Studios isn't immune to the wrath of critics, so you have to believe they've gone to great lengths to ensure this movie doesn't disappoint.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released in theaters on May 6.

I understand that the movies need to link, that changes get made and plans updated.

But the idea of possibly cutting Bruce's cameo? No way man.

Maybe instead of Balder, they will make him a Mr. Fantastic variant and not cutting him altogether . That way if the illumanti is killed, they can still use whoever they pick to play the role, hopefully Krasinski, later on.

@Cdznuts - [frick] a Variant, I want Marvel to have some balls and cast Bruce as the MCUS official Reed Richards. It's never ever gonna happen, but I can dream.

This sounds somewhat like the old Marvel Creative Committee with Feige in charge instead of Ike and his pals.

Edit. Except it's not being done on every film. Not Guardians. Not Eternals. Maybe some others.

Epitomizes the opposite of authorship. Feige alone runs this show.

As soon as I saw "my buddy Sam" couldn't read the rest of the quote without hearing Ash's voice in my head. Imaginary Bruce Campbell in my head is a more compelling actor than anyone in this movie, they better not cut his scenes so help me

"widely believed" lol.

You mean speculated on by like three people who convince themselves they are right for six months until the movie proves them wrong yet again.

Bruce Campbell would make a great Tony Stark variant.

I [frick]ing knew it.
I cant believe Sam felt for it AGAIN.

And why hire Sam [frick]ing Raimi on the first place??? give this to another overpaid tool like Jon Watts.
