DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Concept Art Reveals We Nearly Visited A Deadpool Reality

Some newly revealed Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness concept art confirms Marvel Studios at least considered sending Doctor Strange and America Chavez to a world inhabited by a lot of Deadpools.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was far from disappointing, but its take on the Multiverse, well, it wasn't quite as "mad" as we hoped. That can partially be blamed on ridiculously high expectations, especially as it's hard to complain too much about the likes of Mister Fantastic, Professor X, and Black Bolt showing up!

The fact is, we're spoiled, but there's no denying that Marvel Studios missed a trick by not doing something with Ryan Reynolds' Merc with the Mouth.

Deadpool 3 is in the midst of pre-production, and the Doctor Strange sequel could have been the perfect place to pull Wade Wilson into the MCU. It seems there was once a plan to at least tease the character with a visit to a world that, for whatever reason, is plastered with Deadpool posters!

You can see the posters in the concept art below, and given Deadpool's own ties to the Multiverse (he has a lot of Variants), this "cameo" would have made perfect sense.

Oddly enough, as revealing as the Assembled special looking at Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is, there's not a single mention of John Krasinski's Mister Fantastic. With that in mind, we have to believe the actor was an extremely late addition to the blockbuster.

In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the Marvel Cinematic Universe unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. We'll journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

The movie's cast includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. The film is directed by Sam Raimi, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Loki Head Writer Michael Waldron.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now playing in theaters. It's now available on Digital platforms and Disney+, and hits Blu-ray, 4k Ultra HD, and DVD on July 26.

@comicfan100 - same, all these botched ideas, i think Marvel it's afraid these ideas would take the viewer out of the film when it's exactly what everyone is looking for

The final product is easily forgettable, while Thor is utterly disappointing lol. BP will prolly be Angela Basset because they don't know what to do anymore!

Would have been cool to see it. Then again would have been cool if it was a good movie.

This touches on a tremendous missed opportunity in Strange 2.

I expected them to unleash the multiverse like they were doing in Spoder-Man NWH and have alternate versions of heroes appearing on Earth 199999 (which they now call 616 even though that is the comic book earth).

I expected Strange to visit other realities that were explored more thoroughly and written to be far more entertaining and integral to the plot.

Imagine him recruiting the Avengers cobbled from different realities to try to stop Wanda, or what should have been Nightmare who was possessing or brainwashing Wanda to be evil.

Then Mybe he winds up Recruting different versions of himself since they need Sorcerer Supremes to fight Wanda and Nightmare.

That would have been so much more fun,

@SpaceParanoids - This sounds 1000x's more interesting than anything shown in this phase. I would've went to see that. MARVEL better step it up.

@VictorAlonzo - Thank you. They need some new and creative blood to write better stories.

Just imagine if they had gotten Tom Cruise to play Tony Stark and some other great guest stars. That would have also been the perfect opportunity to introduce a different actor playing T’Challa. And if he somehow got trapped in this reality then he could be the Earth 199999 Black Panther.

Also a cool cameo would be Edward Norton as Banner from a different reality if he would do it.

The possibilities would have been amazing.

@SpaceParanoids -

Seeing these concepts help me realize how much of a layup this was. They were so concerned with green screen jogging and horrible dialouge, they overlooked a TON of credible concepts! Seeing Strange get help from another BP variant would've been awesome. T'Chaka played by Wesley Snipes. New T'Challa played by Godfrey. Win/win.

@VictorAlonzo - Oh my, Imagine Snipes as T’Chaka, or how about Strange since he is dealing with an evil spirit finds Blade from another universe…..played by a de-aged Snipes.

Another great way to introduce e Blade.

You’re right, it was a layup. So disappointing.

@SpaceParanoids - either would have worked. It's like going out on a playground, and trying to build a cardhouse. Yeah, it's possible, but the wind is against you, and there are so many other, better things, made for the playground to play with!!!

Cable and Deadpool showing up would’ve increased my enjoyment of this movie immensely. Too bad it didn’t happen.
