DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS First Clip Pits Stephen Strange Against The Monstrous Gargantos

Marvel Studios has released the first clip from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and it features the former Sorcerer Supreme leaping into action against Gargantos to protect America Chavez...

With just one week to go until Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arrives in theaters, the first clip from the movie has been released. Seemingly taking place moments after America Chavez lands in the MCU, we see Stephen Strange leap into action against the villainous Gargantos.

It's an exciting action scene, but based on what we see here, it doesn't appear as if Gargantos is either Shuma-Gorath or the tentacled creature teased throughout What If...?'s first season.

Regardless, the sequel looks great and we're very excited to see what else Sam Raimi has in store for us. Screenings begin on Monday, so it won't be too long before reactions and reviews start surfacing online. Whether Marvel Studios can keep all those cameos under wraps remains to be seen, though we'd recommend avoiding Variety's review as they've become well-known for dropping spoilers!

Take a look at this first Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness clip below:

In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the Marvel Cinematic Universe unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. We'll journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

The movie's cast includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. The film is directed by Sam Raimi, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Loki Head Writer Michael Waldron.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released on May 6.

Holy shit this clip feels like Sam's spiderman film💪.

The way he shoots New York feels like his trilogy❤️

@AmazingFILMporg - New York will always be the best setting for these characters. It always feels so right. And maybe Raimi's Spider-Man films are responsible for that.

@AmazingFILMporg - I felt that too. Just that random shot of the passerby saying "Wow" brought me back.

NYC is a character in the MCU. Raimi gets it.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - Joss Whedon did excellent with NY as a setting in The Avengers and John Watts I feel did ok in Spider-Man Homecoming but he definitely nailed it in No Way Home. The Russo brothers did good too in Infinity War. The brief battle in NY looked good minus the terrible Iron man CGI in Infinity War.

This looks like it's going to be a 2 hour movie of the Infinity War version of Doctor Strange which is just perfect.

Strange becoming one of my favorite MCU characters. It's fun watching him use spells.

If Dr. Strange breaks a bus into fragments, throws pieces like shurikens and then reassembles it into a shackle/sledgehammer in the first 10 minutes of this movie I'm wondering what kinda other crazy stuff they have in store for the rest of it

OmegaDaGrodd - 4/28/2022, 2:39 PM
@Waddles - Yea, they seem to have reeeaaaalllly stepped it up. Everything I've seen in the trailers points to this being crazy but none of the previews have really shown much of what Strange himself does. Nice to see they have stuff in the tuck

Hey yo i'm taking BO estimations on this movie.

My prediction is 1.5bil.
What do you think guys?
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 4/28/2022, 2:32 PM
@BO31 - More than The Batman, less than NWH.
Around $1B (maybe a bit less, maybe a bit more).
WakandanQueen
WakandanQueen - 4/28/2022, 2:34 PM
@BO31 - Around $1.1 billie imma say. Similar to Civil War and Captain Marvel, but higher domestically and lower overseas.

@TheHumanSpider2 - brillant marketing by Marvel. Destroy the BO with NWH camoes. Turn right and tease Xaiver in MoM keeping the nostalgia going.

Just bringing the NWH hype right over.

I'm changing my BO prediction to 1.4bil. Sticking with that

@BO31 - I'm gonna play it low and say around the 800 to 900 million range. a billion is in the ball park, I'm just being conservative.

TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 4/28/2022, 3:59 PM
@Spidey91 - I think it will be between $900M-$1.1B, a hit for sure (second movie in over TWO YEARS to reach the billion mark), however, we'll never know how large the actual budget for this movie was, considering the reshoots.

@TheBlueMorpho - I though @DoubleD was the one doing that.
Anyway, add my prediction, also, I made a bet with @UnderBelly about Avatar 2 not making as much as NWH, if you would be so kind...

@WakandanQueen - Well, no China, no Russia, no half Middle East...this movie is losing a lot of money overseas...but Disney can rest knowing they did the right thing.

@BO31 - That's is why part of me dont want this movie to be a hit, I already threw up a bit reading the Flash trailer description.
Deadinside
Deadinside - 4/28/2022, 4:01 PM
@BO31 - I know that they are going to make, at least, $25 from me & my ex!
UnderBelly
UnderBelly - 4/29/2022, 2:45 AM
@TheHumanSpider2 - Yeah it's a healthy bet. Obviously we have to wait for the end of Avatar 2's theatrical WW run, with the market being to more or less the same standards as last Christmas.🤞🏽. See you next year!

This is definitely gigantos, NOT Shuma gorath like people keep trying to change him to. Shuma would be much more of a magical threat. Gigantos appears to be more of a physical threat
But it's only 1 minute clip so maybe we will see what else this creature can do
TheHumanSpider2

I missed Raimi's New York, you know, a city with actual people in it.
demery
demery - 4/28/2022, 4:22 PM
@TheHumanSpider2 - Same. I love his New York full of actual people with exaggerated reactions and comments.

Now all we need are the typical Raimi shots for the city folk and I'll be good.

SonOfAGif
SonOfAGif - 4/28/2022, 6:24 PM
@TheHumanSpider2 - I felt like the brief scenes in NY in Infinity War felt like Raimi's New York. Not to mention how awesome NY looked and felt in The Avengers.

@Waddles - hopefully they get locked up and the keys get lost. Sick people like that need to be locked away from society. Thankfully she was a one and done for the MCU.

Well now you know 😏
lordSTALE
lordSTALE - 4/28/2022, 3:05 PM
@Waddles - I mean it clearly still has power.

Just because it housed the Time Stone before doesn't mean it doesn't have its own abilities, like revealing invisible monsters for example 🤷🏽‍♂️

I really like the animation on Gargantos and the way it's eye reacts when Strange disassembled the bus.

Can't wait for next Wednesday.
