DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Star Charlize Theron Teases Her MCU Future As Clea

In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' mid-credits scene, we met Clea, a character who looks set to turn the Sorcerer Supreme's world upside down. Now, Charlize Theron teases her MCU future...

Many Phase 4 post-credits scenes have been devoted to introducing new characters, whether it's Hercules, Blade, Jake Lockley, or Clea. The latter showed up at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' credits, recruiting the former Sorcerer Supreme for a mission into the Dark Dimension.

Comic book fans will know how important Clea is to Stephen Strange's story, and Marvel Studios has made sure to enlist an A-List talent to bring the character to life in Oscar-winner Charlize Theron.

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actress was asked what's next for her in the MCU. "I hope [the cameo]’s not it, but we’ll see, yes," Theron said, playing coy. "I think I know, I mean unless, I’m sure they can change their mind, depending on what I say on this show! [Laughs]"

Pushed for answers (by some clichéd geeks in the audience), she added: "I play Clea...and...let's just say I have some work to do. I don't quite know who she is yet, but I will."

Clearly, Theron jumped into the MCU for this cameo, but hasn't had a chance to take a deep dive into the character's history. We can't hold that against her, of course, especially when it doesn't appear as if she knows when and where Clea will make her return alongside Doctor Strange.

While a Doctor Strange 3 is perhaps inevitable, we wouldn't be shocked if these two show up elsewhere first, likely in one of the upcoming Avengers movies. It was an odd introduction as Strange had seemingly embraced that third eye (despite being horrified in the scene prior to that one) and had no issue with leaping into the Dark Dimension with little explanation from Clea.

We're sure Marvel Studios has some sort of plan in place, though, and can't imagine they'd hire Theron without signing her up for something more than just a quick cameo.

what about her future in the boys?

bkmeijer1 - 10/26/2022, 9:38 AM
She's obviously gonna return for Doctor Strange 3 (In the Dimension of Darkness?). Strange has to face Dormammu again, and it only makes sense for Clea to be there too.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is my favorite movie of 2022 so far. Great movie start to finish 10 stars / 10 stars for me.

@DoubleD - I was bored for a portion of the beginning, but I would have to put it as second best of phase 4. It’s a bit distant from NWH but most movies are. I still thought it was great and def an improvement on the first one. Next:
love and thunder (right underneath, I understood the hate but def disagreed)
Shang Chi (kinda boring)
Eternals (very boring)
Black Widow (more mind numbing than boring, it never stopped but it never started either)

@TheWalkingCuban - And over at WB/DC.

@DoubleD

What are you favorite aspects of MoM?

I really liked MoM but that after credit scene felt so out of place, wish they'd either filmed it in a way that made it fit better with the closing shot of Strange falling over in pain as his third eye opened, or they just didn't bother with that third eye scene at all.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of MoM but I like the idea of Charlie Theron as Clea. I’d practically watch anything with her.

My guess is the next movie will be called “Doctor Strange in the Dark Dimension”.

@MovieMonster - if they're sticking to the ''In the [Something] of [Something]ness'' framing, I think ''In the Dimension of Darkness'' fits better

@MovieMonster - I like the idea of sequels sticking with the "Doctor Strange in" format.

It’s too bad Dr. Strange doesn’t have beautiful women in his life. First Rachel McAdams, then Charlize Theron. Seriously I am excited about what she will bring as well as having Clea in the mix.

While I don't personally know Charlize Theron, and even though she legally adopted her son, I personally don't like how she raised him. I don't believe that children need to be chemically castrated, nor allow them to make their OWN certain choices as children no encourage life changing ideas or concepts until they are adults or young adults. As children, they haven't gotten old enough to have a better understanding of themselves and what they want to be in life.

That said, I like Charlize Theron as an actress, just not for the role of Clea. I always envisioned Clea to come across as a much younger character even though she is hundreds if not 1000's of years old, she comes across as if she's in her TWENTIES.

Charlize Theron just doesn't seem right for the role, and takes away from the mystique of the character because of who she is. I'd have MUCH rather they cast a young unknown actress in her twenties for the role, it would have looked a lot more mysterious. All I could think of when I saw her was Oh wow, that's Charlize Theron(as Clea). For whatever reason, even when Cumberbatch first was on screen as Strange, I still saw Dr.Strange FIRST, not Cumberbatch as Dr.Strange.

@Blastaar - all celeb children are trannies
Blastaar
Blastaar - 10/26/2022, 2:44 PM
@DUNCAN1 - I WANTED to go there but I remained vague because unfortunately some people just don't and WON'T understand/get it, and will fight you tooth & nail saying it has nothing to do with his race, etc. When there IS some nefarious groups & individuals out there that want to do harm to certain demographics.

I say LEAVE the kids alone, let them be CHILDREN, don't s3xualize them nor confuse indulge/encourage with disillusions with their born s3x AND gender. When they get to be 18 years old, if they feel they want to go to extremes with their bodies, then so be it. As a parent, I'd encourage them to love themselves AS THEY ARE, and live an alt-lyfestyle if they are interested in the same s3x, but not to destroy/mutilate their bodies, especially to give themselves to have children in the future if they so choose, and yes they COULD do both, adopt and or have their own children later on. But, like I said, if they are an adult and want to change their body parts, etc. then so be it, but as ADULTS ONLY.
Blastaar
Blastaar - 10/26/2022, 2:46 PM
@Lokiwasright - I wouldn't say that, but some indeed are, and although it's THEIR children. I feel it's wrong, and I'm not cool with child abuse, no matter if the child is mine or not.

@Blastaar - PREACH its how I feel about Madonna's kids, Sandra Bullock, D-Wade's son, the Smith kids, Kard/West kids etc. Hollyweird up to no good as per usual
Blastaar
Blastaar - 10/27/2022, 9:20 AM
@DUNCAN1 - Yeah, its just some INSANE depravity.

I just watched a video the other day where a scientist proved that the s3xualization of children and gender confusion is an agenda, that the Nazi's and their associates where experimenting with these ideas, and they seeped into Hollyweird due to "Project Blue Book"/Operation Paperclip, and all of the Nazi scientists that were given asylum in the U.S. even though most of them did ABSOLUTE evil things.

This is where things like MK ULTRA came from, which was brought into the C.I.A and FBI. NASA of course also adopted some of these Nazi scientists. The U.S. was adamant to get these scientists before Russia got their hands on them.

Let me see if I can find the video and I will send it to you.
But also, you can research a lot of this on your own.
