WHAT IF?'s Captain Carter Rumored To Make An Appearance In DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS

This should be taken with a pinch of salt for the time being, but rumor has it that Hayley Atwell's Captain Carter could make a live-action cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness next year!

What If? premieres on Disney+ on August 11, and after Loki's bonkers finale, fans are anxious to find out what sort of impact the animated series is going to have on the MCU's Multiverse plans.

One popular theory is that some of these characters could make their way to live-action, with whatever plays out here somehow factoring into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and beyond. Leaked promo art has already suggested that these Variant heroes and villains will assemble as the Guardians of the Multiverse, but it's Captain Carter who has grabbed the attention of most fans.

Hayley Atwell will reprise the role of Peggy Carter to lend her voice to a version who takes the super soldier serum in place of Steve Rogers, but could a live-action debut follow?

In a rumor shared on The Disinsider Show, hosts Skyler Shuler and Derek Cornell reveal, "[What If? is] not the last time we're going to see Captain Carter. We are hearing...this is not confirmed. Captain Carter is supposedly going to show up in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness."

They stress that this is only a rumor and is in no way confirmed, but it sure is an interesting and very exciting prospect, eh? Strange crossing paths with this superhero version of Peggy would be nothing short of spectacular, while also establishing the importance of Marvel Studios' first animated series.

Don't get too excited just yet, but this could be a cameo worth keeping an eye out for next year.

If there is one what if? charac that could appear in live action it is Peggy. She's been the queen of cameos since TFA.

Perhaps this is why some actors came back to do voices and others didn’t. If those who did where planned to continue that character to some extent in live action, even if just cameos, it’s pretty cool

Out of every "Variant" in What If this might honestly be the only one I could see appearing. The only other one who could have appeared would have been Star Lord Tchalla but for obvious reasons sadly that can't happen now, Those two seemed to be the two big "players" in what if so having them be the ones to make a live action debut would make sense.

We could also I guess see the Marvel Zombies but Captain Carter seems to make the most sense.

@Timerider84 - I know this is a joke, but no lie I would pay to see 69 (nice) year old Lou Ferringo in that green makeup again.

@Mrcool210 - I could see them do a CGI Lou. I dont think Kevin is gonna hold back on the wild, but he will make it quality.

@CasualAF - Naw he's gotta go Makeup or bust. It aint the same if he's CG.

Am I the only one who's just never been as invested in Peggy, for as much as these revisits to her over the years are born out of [fans]? Never really understood it.

I'll tell you why this is probably false. Multiverse of Madness was due out two months ago Pre-Covid - in the 2019 Phase 4 Comic Con announcement it was given as May 2021. Three months before What If. It's shooting was only delayed four months due to Covid, so I assume the script etc was all in place and pre production was already underway. Also, I doubt Captain Carter would appear in MoM before What If.

@CLTMAN29 - that's a good point. Although I do think Raimi made a lot of changes (and Derrickson did leave because Marvel wanted things he didn't), so could be they wrote her in anyway when the new schedule became clear

@bkmeijer - Depends how tied up she is with Mission Impossible - also depends how ripped she'd need to get or body shape work out, she looks dreadfully gaunt now. I just think it's still doubtful. I could be wrong, but things could change. Hell this was due out before Spider-Man and they've changed them around so God knows what's gonna happen.

@CLTMAN29 - oh yeah, forgot about MI too. Either way, I think there is a small chance it's gonna be more than a cameo (if its even that).
