Marvel's PHASE 3 Plans Confirmed?

Marvel's PHASE 3 Plans Confirmed?

The Schmoes' scooper is back..and this time it's big news! A galaxy may go unguarded, but there'll be a Doctor in the house instead. Read on to find out which exact CBMs may well be a part of Marvel's mysterious Phase 3 series of movies.

The Schmoes are back, but I guess "The Phantom" is taking a break because their new scooper goes by "Victor Jones". Anyway, Mr Jones claims to have uncovered -- for a certainty -- the movies Marvel has on the cards for its Phase 3. According to him the rumored sequel to Guardians Of The Galaxy is not yet being considered (though obviously that all may change if the first movie busts enough blocks), but he does know which flicks are, at least for now, locked in for Phase 3. And they are:

"The movies that will be part of Phase III for absolute certain are: Ant-Man, Captain America 3, Thor 3, The Avengers 3 and Dr. Strange."

So nothing too unexpected really, but it's still nice to have confirmation -- if indeed this lineup stays the same. Apparently Kevin Feige actually wanted Dr. Strange as a part of Phase 2, but because that didn't work out he's now giving it the highest priority. But what about Black Panther I hear you type furiously? Well, Jones reckons both he and The Inhumans are still in the pipeline, and are "in the same boat that Dr. Strange and Ant-Man were in two years ago". The guys seem very confident that this will indeed be our Phadse 3 series of movies, and say we should expect an official announcement by Comic Con if not sooner.

Now obviously we have to stick a question mark on this until it's officially...official! But The Schmoes have had plenty of confirmed scoops in the past so we've no reason to doubt their word now. What do you guys think?

Here's what I think Marvel should do for Phase 3; Not end it with another Avengers film. Have it appear in the middle.

Can Marvel go back to 6 movies? Black Panther can easily fit in there.
JoeMomma29
JoeMomma29 - 2/13/2014, 5:24 PM
@ Ezio

I agree this could all be a bunch of B.S., that being said Marvel can get a instant homerun with a Black Panther movie. Black Panther is one of my favorite Marvel characters that seems to get no love.

Also Marvel can beat DC to having a lead role go to a black actor.

WYLEEJAY - 2/13/2014, 5:27 PM
They said these films for sure. Not that they wouldn't add another one. They will save Black Panthers announcement for Comic Con.

i personally think marvel studios should stick to the two film formula, its lexx expensive for them and we dont get bombarded with more superhero stuff, by we ,i mean the egenral audience, look, we are getting 4 superhero films this year, 3 next year and we are pon track to have FIVE in 2016, i think 5 is the limit for superhero films if we have more then its oversaturation imo, plus doing a captain america or a thor is smart and safe cause those movies will make money, money that can be used to fund their unknown proerties suchas guardians, ant man, dr strange

Needs GOTG 2, Inhumans and Black Panther. Hopefully those are added.

But all it says is the ones that are "absolute certain" so there may be others planned.
Pheezmatic
Pheezmatic - 2/13/2014, 5:32 PM
these have all been assumed!!!!!!!!..THERES STILL 2 MORE SPOTS OPEN FOR MOVIES HERE GUYS!!... and thats just assuming Marvel sticks to their two a year sched.

...I think we'll get a GOTG 2 and BP....
ezio619
ezio619 - 2/13/2014, 5:32 PM
the only reason i question this is because feige said he would like to do a known property and an unknown property as the two films each year, such as we are getting a known in cap and an unknown in guardians, same with avengers 2 and ant man next year
Bekss
Bekss - 2/13/2014, 5:36 PM
This is completely dumb. This are the most obvious movies, he's just putting the films that have more possibilities and that's all and one movie is missing.

@ezio I agree that at some point, all the cbm's could be overload but I'm starting to also feel like the Marvel Studios brand is able to pull off from the usual cbm releases and be respected as something else entirely. I think after A2, even the general public will start to realize that Anything with the Marvel Studios logo and fanfare is trusted while the others are just cannon (Fox,Sony).I really hope WB steps it up a notch with this "MOS2" movie cuz then i think DCU and MCU will just force out the bullshit (again, fox, sony) and be the only two kids at the playground like it should be.
ezio619
ezio619 - 2/13/2014, 5:43 PM
Pheezmatic-im fine with fox and sony but i do agree ,people i meet or on twitter and stuff like that, when they heard about guardians some of them were unsure but willing to give it a chanc becuas it was Marvel which im so fascinated by that Marvels brand is so huge right now, its insane thats why i think guardians will open will due to the brand of marvel but sustain on good word of mouth
GizmoEl
GizmoEl - 2/13/2014, 5:43 PM
they're also missing a movie. ant man will be in 2015. theres gonna be a new movie paired with an existing property in 2016, same with 2017. We'll probably get a GotG sequel the year after Avengers AoU

Don't we already know that most of these films are basically confirmed?

Here's what I hope to see...

Ant-Man (confirmed)
Doctor Strange (basically confirmed)
Thor 3 (confirmed)
Captain America 3 (confirmed)
Black Panther (Majorly in development)
The Indestructible Hulk (They've expressed interest in adapting a sequel following this theme)
Avengers 3 (No Brainer)

That's all I want, it's also been said that phase 4 may consist of the new avengers?
Pasto
Pasto - 2/13/2014, 5:45 PM
How exactly is this a scoop?
Pheezmatic
Pheezmatic - 2/13/2014, 5:45 PM
@MARVELPSYCHO79 Hmmm...thats actually not a bad idea for A3 to be released in 2019. Like you said, give Whedon the chance to recharge. Also they could maybe even do something reeeeaaallly crazy like film 2 films at one time (A3 and Avengers: Infinity Gauntlet), have A3 be all about the characters and setting up the story like Whedon excels at...THEN in 2020 release the 2nd movie which would be a 2 and half hour ALL OUT WAR against Thanos!!!!! STRAIGHT UP!! Just 2 and half hours of fighting and cgi and awesome powers being used and just nonstop action...even though it would break all rules of film...us fanboys would drown in our own seeds and die happy.
ezio619
ezio619 - 2/13/2014, 5:46 PM
Theblacknerd-i think your list is probably whats going on

Because basically they are CONFIRMING it, not guessing, they literally mean this is 100% true.
ezio619
ezio619 - 2/13/2014, 5:47 PM
Pheezmatic-yeah but i just dont want it be all action, it needs to have a good story and good character moments etc.

GOTG 2 will probably be added to that list if the first movie is a success.
marvel72

marvel phase 3

-ant-man
-captain america 3
-thor 3
-the inhumans
-dr.strange
-the avengers 3
TheRationalNerd
TheRationalNerd - 2/13/2014, 5:48 PM
But then again I think Indestructible Hulk may get put off until they reboot the franchises. :(

I'll just go with...

Ant-Man (2015)
Thor 3 (2016)
Doctor Strange (2016)
Captain America 3 (2017)
Black Panther (2017)
Avengers 3 (2018)

ezio619
ezio619 - 2/13/2014, 5:50 PM
marvel has 5 films in phase 2, IM3,THOR 2,CAP2,GUARDIANS AND AVENGERS, so that means they could have five films in phase 3
TheRationalNerd
TheRationalNerd - 2/13/2014, 5:51 PM
@ezio619

I would be sooooooooo excited man. I really want to see another hulk movie. We need to see more of Banner and Samson's relationship and add a pre She-Hulk cameo.
Pheezmatic
Pheezmatic - 2/13/2014, 5:52 PM
@ezio I totally agree...I noticed too that theres a lot of interest for GOTG simply off the marvel name. thats what i mean...theyre becoming the disney of dbms right. And Honestly, I don't necessarily mind Fox and Sony and what they've done so far but I don't trust them with these intellectual properties anymore. I'm fully convinced that Marvel would do them 500% better if they had them back. I have a feeling Sony is going to start to milk the spiderman universe and Fox is going to milk the X-men universe (if they haven't already). I really think that xmen should be back at marvel and should be a TV show...with an event movie every few years. Same with FF. I actually believe Sony should continue distributing Spidey movies but idk about a Sinister Six movie??? Kind of pushing it.

If Black Panther can't carry his own Comic. Why would he be considered a top box office draw? Dollars decide the bottom line.

TheRationalNerd
TheRationalNerd - 2/13/2014, 5:53 PM
But then again Phase 1 had six films...

Iron Man
The Incredible Hulk
Iron Man 2
Thor
Captain America
Avengers

And plus marvel has said they plan to release one new film and old franchise sequel every year so hopefully that's how it plays out.
