Rachel McAdams "Has Offer" For DOCTOR STRANGE; But She'd Really Like To Play A DC Character

True Detective's Rachel McAdams pretty much confirmed that she has had talks with Marvel about appearing in Doctor Strange, but now the full quote from the actress has been revealed, and it seems she'd rather be playing a certain mystical DC superheroine...

There definitely appears to be some truth to Rachel McAdams being lined up for the female lead role in Marvel's Doctor Strange (the Tweet from The Wrap's Jeff Sneider even claims there's an offer on the table), but nothing is official just yet! Amy Kaufman of the LA Times is the one who spoke to the actress when she confirmed the original rumor was legit, and has now posted the full response to Twitter. It seems McAdams definitely has good taste, as she's a fan of DC's Black Orchid and suggests that she'd be interested in playing the role.

The incarnation of the character McAdams is talking about was the second Black Orchid (Flora Black), and was introduced in Sandman author Neil Gaiman's miniseries back in 1988. Black has been a member of Suicide Squad and more recently Justice League Dark, so there's definitely potential for her to sprout up in the DCCU at some point.

If McAdams does sign on for Doctor Strange it's not likely that she'd jump ship to Warner Bros., but do you think she'd be a good fit for this character anyway?

@KurtWagner1225 Hmmm. I'm not sure about Strange; maybe Cumberbatch or any of the other stars show up, but I'm expecting 100% CIVIL WAR when it comes to Marvel.

She sucks so bad on True Detective. Everyone except for Colin Farrell is just [frick]ing awful.

She's always been my Catwoman pick but her in Sandman would be awesome.

Who'd want to be in Dr Strange when you could be in Neil Gaiman adaption?

WB/DC/JGL make it so.

@blackandyellow Disagree. Her and Farrell are the only redeeming parts in this terrible season. My god the writing and dialogue sucks so bad.

Vince Vaughn was more believable in Fred Claus than he is in True Detective.

@reasonnn

I disagree. Everything about her part is garbage. Even when she's talking about liking big dicks and crashing an orgy she manages to make it uninteresting. She looks like she's just going through the motions and doesn't even want to be there.

@blackandyellow I disagree with your disagreement!

The actor who just truly sucks this season is Kelly Reilly, the wife of Vince Vaughn's gangster character (who sucks at negotiating haha).

@reasonnn

Yeah she sucks too. Which is a shame because I think she's hot. Maybe she'll get naked in the last 2 episodes.

@blackandyellow She's gorgeous, but she always looks like she's about to fall asleep.

I think she's great. I'd like to see her in any superhero movie but not just as the damsel.

She needs to be Catwoman. Especially after her performance in True Detective, showing off her badass knife skills and dark but sexy demeanor.

I like True Detective a lot. Sure, it's not as good as the first season but who gives a [frick]? It's entertaining.

@blackandyellow That's definitely not the actors'/actresses' fault. The writing and story is pitiful. Harrelson and McConaughey are known to be extremely vocal when it comes to fixing lines and dialogue. Vaughn, McAdams, Farrell, Kitsch, etc. They could care less. It's a paycheck.
