The Story Part 2

Story B Scene 6:

Richard Grayson enters the office to find police files stacked on his table. He has been reassigned to a desk job at his request, after leading a buy bust operation a few short months ago. It leads to the arrest and apprehension of drug dealer and crime boss Anthony Zucco. Zucco resisted arrest and escapes, only to be collared down by the vigilante who goes by the name Nightwing. Nightwing nearly crippled Zucco and the criminal is serving life in a prison hospital.

(Cut scene: Dick Grayson is shown as a teenage acrobat, practicing the routine for their next act as a member of the very popular family performers The Flying Graysons of the visiting Haley’s Circus set up near Gotham Bay. Next, Tony Zucco, a known crime-lord, is seen arguing with the circus owner, warning them of an accident if he wasn’t paid “protection fees”, Zucco leaves and goes to one of his henchmen, showing a piece of slightly-severed rope.)

A telephone call interrupts Grayson in deep thought. He answers while looking at the files on his desk. There have been three arrests near the docks. Grayson smiles as he continues profiling. He comes across an unsolved case file. A cartel outfit was hit at the docks a few weeks ago. Looking for the rest of the file, to read the detail of the report, he finds it on the corner of his desk. Six members of a known cartel ring were shot execution style by a high caliber weapon. Dick ask himself if he had a high caliber weapon why execution style? The person wouldn’t even need to get close to kill them. Dick checks with one of his friend’s a Detective Dudley Soames who was handling the case before it was put on his desk. The detective tells him that this is the fourth crime scene with the same M.O. and there is a pattern similar to it in Gotham. Dick is uneasy about going to Gotham as he and Bruce are still on bad terms.

Story A

Bruce is in the Batcave trying to put together why the two banks and Wayne Enterprises wore hit at the same time. Just then Alfred comes down the stairs to the cave and tells Bruce that Dick just call needing his help on a case Dick is working. Bruce looks at Alfred and tells him that he can’t help Dick. He has his own cases to worry about. Alfred tells Bruce “You and Dick are more alike then you both are willing to admit.” Bruce says “Why is that?” and Alfred replies “Dick didn’t ask for your help he asked for mine”, Alfred then gives Bruce a journal. Bruce asks “What is this for?” Alfred replies while walking up the stairs “It was your father’s, maybe he can talk some sense into you.” Bruce starts to read the journal “December 7 Martha and I were traveling across the Midwest…”

(Cut scene: While Thomas and Martha Wayne are on their honeymoon they witnessed a light falling from the sky into a close-by field. Thomas got out to look through the field and discovered a weird crystal. Upon touching the object, Thomas subconscious traveled to the planet of Krypton. There, Thomas’s subconscious met Jor-El a Kryptonian scientist. Jor-El tells him that the object he discovered was a Kryptonian probe, one of dozens that Jor-El had sent out to several yellow-star galaxies. Jor-El told Thomas of his doomed planet and that Jor-El was sorting out an acceptable world within which to send his new-born son Kal-El. Jor-El and Thomas instantly developed a bond which let Jor-El know that sending his son to Earth was the right choice. Pleased to have found a suitable planet, Jor-El sent Thomas’s subconscious back to his body on Earth. Several months later Martha gives birth to Thomas first son Bruce C. Wayne. Thomas never forgot his trip to Krypton and he still having the Kryptonian probe. End Cut Scene)

“I studied the technology and was able to use it to avoid bankrupting Wayne Enterprises. No one knows the alien technology from that probe kept the company alive. I wanted to make sure my journal never saw the light of day. So I will give my journal to Alfred, my butler, for safe keeping and I will hide the probe in a secret place within the caverns beneath Wayne Manor.” Bruce goes to find Alfred upstairs in the Manor. After finding Alfred, Bruce asks Alfred “Why did you wait so long to show me this journal?” Alfred tells him that “Your father wanted to offer the journal to you himself, so that you would learn the true story concerning the family's legacy.” Alfred continues by telling him “You were not ready to know the truth about what led to your parent’s death.”

Story B Scene 7:

At the Docks in Blüdhaven, Dick comb the area for evidence thinking to himself why a rifle? And how was the scene so void of any struggle? As Dick searches the area he remembers a picture from the crime scene photo that caught his eye earlier. Rifling through the case file from his desk he finds the photo. Using the photo Dick tries to position himself where the photo was taken. But the first question still remained why a rifle? Wouldn’t a hand gun be quicker or more efficient?  Looking at the picture again Dick thinks one of these things is not like the others.  One of the bodies in the picture is at a different angle then the rest, as if he was running away. He checks the autopsy report said that the victim was still shot in the back of the head. Looking at the picture he sees a ricochet mark on a metal crate. Dick thinks to himself, No way! That shot is almost impossible!? Dick knows one thing, that to get anywhere in this case he was going to need to use Bruce’s computer. Dreading that it would have to come to this he makes another call to Wayne Manor.

I am from Blüdhaven P.D.” Just then, a detective walks by, calm but with a mean streak, Det. Harvey Bullock. Edward is trying to get the attention of the officer at the front desk as Bullock comes closer. Edward grabs Bullock’s attention and asks “Where is the Commissioner’s office? Bullock points at the back corner of the building and replies find it yourself.

Just then on the radio scanners Bruce hears a call about a murder in the slums area near crime alley. Batman goes to investigate the murder of a well know drug dealer station in the slum area. Batman enters the building from the roof and access the room above the crime scene. Using the Batcave remote access Batman finds modified bullet fragments by using his forensic lenses in his cowl to look through the floor. Using the touch pad on his wrist, Batman analyzes the bullet fragments. The search comes back negative for any source of custom weaponry sold in the Gotham area. Batman then wonders if this is a new threat to the city or a random act of violence.
