I'd like to remind you that I try not to be bias towards either studio and anything written here is just an opinion. I like many others can be harsh when judging an actors performance or the way a character was written. So with my best intentions as to just kill some time and start an interesting discussion of which Villains rule the Universes. Here are my current Worst 6 and Top 10 villains amongst the DCEU and MCU (This has to do with only villains whose performances we have seen on the big screen so far).

Top 6 DCEU and MCU Henchmen/Women

#6 Jonny Frost from Suicide Squad - While Joker may have been a fail, Jonny Frost was a win. Everything that usually makes Joker scary and intimidating was missing do to his badass henchmen. Frost may have had a small roll but every time hes on screen he feels like the guy getting things done. When we get to the chopper being hijacked the helicopter turns to reveal Frost firing a mini gun killing some soldiers and creating chaos while his boss Joker just plays with his AK not really doing much. The character himself comes off intimidating and heartless which is great for a henchman.

#5 Algrim the Strong / Kurse from Thor: the Dark World- It was pretty cool to see the dark elf Algrim the Strong transform into Kurse. In a movie where the main villain wasn't that good, his henchman ends up giving our hero more of a brutal ass whooping than the Dark Elf Malekith who holds the Aether. I liked the fight between Thor and Kurse, it felt like the first time we've seen someone man handle Thor. Even after Loki stabs Kurse through the chest Kurse turns and grabs him driving the sword through Loki, which to me is probably one of the most badass way to kill your opponent. The only way Thor and Loki are able to stop Kurse is by Loki attaching a implosion grenade on Kurse's belt after Loki takes a sword through the chest.

#4 Brock Rumlow / Cross Bones from Captain America: the Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War- When we first meet Rumlow he's helping our hero on a secret mission for shield. He even ends up saving our hero when Cap ignores one attacker, as Rumlow put it, "he looked so helpless". Fast forward to the reveal that Hydra has infiltrated SHIELD and Rumlow ends up being one of Hydra's best henchmen, then we see Rumlow at his most conniving and while he might not be a match up for Cap he ends up giving Falcon a good fight which goes horribly wrong for Rumlow when the Helicarrier crashes into the building. When we return to Cap's third movie we start off with Rumlow, now Cross Bones, attacking a medical facility to steel some kind of virus. He even attempts a suicide bombing to kill Captain America. If it wasn't for Scarlet Witch Cap would've been killed or severely hurt. Some might argue that Cross Bones was wasted and I would agree, but the way he went out was just as good as some of the toughest badass henchmen.

#3 Anatoli Knyazev / KGBeast from Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice- I'm starting to realize a theme amongst my top pick for henchmen and that's the worst villains in the films end up having some good henchmen, right? No? Well it seems that way. the KGBeast is the best part about Lex Luthor's henchmen. We first meet him when he's guarding the Warlords palace, he shoots Lois's camera man in the head after finding a tracking device in his camera to learn the guy was CIA. He does all that just find out he's double crossing the warlord to frame superman, in this scene we find out right off the bat how ruthless he is and in the Uncut BvS movie we find out he kills Jimmy Olsen aka CIA Camera Man. Through out the movie he ends up being more of a villain than Lex. Lex seems like a kid with his daddies trust fund and a psychotic outlook on superheroes. the KGBeast comes off as the guy you don't want to f*ck with, he will burn you and your mom alive. He gets a big thumbs up as a character who stood out more as a villain than the main villain.

#2 Kaecilius from Doctor Strange- Some people might argue that Kaecilius is not a henchman and that he is the main villain of the Dr Strange movie. I will say he isn't just a henchmen, he is one of the best henchmen on screen you will ever see. Think about how all he is doing is trying to destroy the sanctuaries protecting earth realm from Dormammu. He and the entire origin tale film is just the introduction of the main villain Dormammu and other dimensions in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kaecilius starts out as a mysterious, murderous sorcerer who decapitates the guardian of the library at Kamar Taj. We see his skills as a fighter against the Ancient One in the opening of the movie and he seems to be pretty skilled. Ones he uses the spell to unlock the power of the dark magic we see him using sorcery at a whole new level. At the end Kaecilius unleashes the dark dimension onto earth and our hero can only stop him by fighting the main villain and trapping Dormammu in a time loop. It wasn't the coolest way to lose to our hero, but if you think about it that was Doctor Strange's only way to defeat Kaecilius.

#1 Nebula from Guardians of the Galaxy- As one of my favorite movies Guardians of the Galaxy has some awesome elements of Sci-Fi and Nebula comes off as an awesome Sci-Fi Comic Book villain. Like the other henchmen I've chosen Nebula's boss started off as an intimidating scary guy and maintains it till the final act, but Nebula maintains her crazy, brutal cyborg image till the bitter end. She ends up being the "get things done" kind of henchman/woman in which she tracks down the orb and almost kills her own sister to retrieve it, then she shows no fear when being caught between the opposing sides of her step father Thanos and her boss Ronan. Even as she is defeated by her sister she decides not to take her sisters hand while hanging off the side of a space ship, she decides to cut her own hand off to drop to what could've been her death but she hijacks a ravager space craft and flies away. Nebula was the stand out villain for GOTG and even in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 she does well as a villain till she joins the Guardians.

@BaronZemo - lol Jonny Frost was the actual guy getting things done will Jared Leto played an ICP fan. Look at Suicide Squad and anything badass happening in the Joker crew has J.Frost at the center of looking in charge. Love when hes on the mini gun in the back of the helicopter.

Fun article! I would have probably made mention of Doctor Poison from Wonder Woman over Jonny Frost--she actually did some pretty sinister war crimes with the empathy of plank of wood. Not to mention her look was so intriguing (and pretty comic accurate, mind you).

And where is Faora? Or would you count her as a main villain in Man of Steel? As far as I'm concerned, she is the best henchman in any of the MCU or DCEU movies. I just rewatched the movie again this week and every time she is on screen, she doesn't disappoint. She is incredibly dangerous, but clearly has an unshakable code of honor. We even get to feel a little sympathy for her as we see her crying over a destroyed Krypton. Great stuff.

Also, where do you sit on Arnim Zola? I feel like he should have definitely been on the list as well, unless scientists like him and Doctor Poison don't count as henchmen for this ranking.

@TheRose -
Faora got promoted to one of the top villains as she and Zod were great for the DCEU.
I felt like the henchmen I picked were the villains carrying the weight of those movies main villains responsibilities. Zola was good, but Red Skull had a bigger impact, same with Dr Poison. Both were great instruments(scientist/weapon makers) for the main villain to accomplish their goals. Zola was #7, and Poison was about #8. But that's what I based my choices after.
