FANCAST: Suicide Squad

My version of the group of incarcerated super-villains who perform black ops missions with a low chance of survival in exchange for the possibility of a shortened sentence.

I believe the movie will be another heist film, but it’s must be different of the others movies and run away from some stupid clichés for example a protagonist who wants to commit one last job before he retires from a life of crime (Please not!). However others film clichés will be necessary as:
  • A MacGuffin in the same level of the Pulp Fiction’s case and Ronin’s. But not like the Crystal skull of Indiana Jones.
  • Every member has a function in the squad like happens in The Italian Job and Inception.

Amanda Waller (Vivica A. Fox)

Amanda Waller is the government agent responsible by the choice of every Suicide Squad members so she’s the link between the government and the squad. Of course she has all essential information about the mission.
Vivica is not my first chosen but was chosen principally because of her role in Kill Bill’s film. First, I chose Rosario Dawson who was not chosen because of her age.

The Squad

Floyd Lawton/Deadshot (Will Smith)

I believe that the Deadshot will be the mission leader principally because of his tactical abilities in the comics. So I think Will Smith should play Floyd Lawton in the theaters because he’s the greatest celebrity in the rumors about the story.

Harlenn Quinzel/Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie)

Margot Robbie is a rising actress who could play a great Harley Quinn. Like Robbie, the Joker’s girlfriend became a popular character in DC universe with different appearances in other media but never in the theaters.

George Harkness/Captain Boomerang (Simon Baker)

Baker is a great Australian actor with amazing performances in The Mentalist but he played secondary roles in theaters. With the possible end of TV series at 2015 I think he could play the Australian villain of DC Comics in the theaters.

Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy (Jessica Chastain)

Recently Jessica Chastain told The Guardian while promoting Salome:

“I would love to do a superhero movie! (…) a couple of times I’ve gotten really close. The problem is, if I do a superhero movie, I don’t want to be the girlfriend. I don’t want to be the daughter. I want to wear a [frick]ing cool costume with a scar on my face, with fight scenes. That’s what I’d love.”

I don’t have doubts that she is an amazing actress who could play an excellent Poison Ivy in Suicide Squad. I believe that Poison Ivy could be a great member of the squad principally because of her friendship with Harley Quinn. It would be nice to see the both friendship's birth in big screen and maybe a future spin-off.

Rudolph Jones/Parasite (Tom Hardy)

Since Inception, Tom Hardy became a rising actor with a great talent for example the extreme changes of physical appearance. I believe that Parasite is a great bet as the squad member principally because of his abilities and cause he is a Superman enemy.

William Tockman/Clock King (Noah Taylor)

I choose him because of his roles in Almost Famous (2000), Tomb Raider films (2001 and 2003), Game of Thrones (TV series) and most recently in Predestination (2014). I believe that he’s a good actor with some charisma and he is able to play this version of the character.

Arthur Brown/Cluemaster (Josh Holloway)

I really like the Cluemaster's story in Suicide Squad. I think the character has a good plot to be a member squad in theaters as a man who wants redemption for his crimes and make his daughter proud of him. Josh Holloway is a good actor and worked with David Ayer in Sabotage (2014).

Nanaue/King Shark (Randy Couture)

Every group has your own member only to be the brute strength in the mission. Initially I chose Blockbuster to be the member but I thought about the Aquaman film and I change my choice for King Shark who could be a minor character in the Aquaman's film. My first choice was John Cena but I realize he only works in movies produced by WWE Studios so I chose Randy Couture to play the humanoid.

Richard Swift/The Shade (Jason Flemyng)

Jason Flemyng is another great actor. I really like his roles in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and X-men: First Class. The Shade could be perfect with the Flemyng’s deep smooth voice.

The Bad Guys

Vandal Savage (Luke Evans)

Luke Evans is another new name in theaters who played recently good roles in Hobbit’s Trilogy and Dracula Untold. Luke could play an excellent Vandal Savage who is the main antagonist alongside The Intergang.

Bruno Mannheim (Jimmy Smits)

Jimmy Smits could be a great Bruno Mannheim principally because of his physical similarities with the character. He’s a great actor with amazing performances in Dexter’s third season, Sons of Anarchy and NYPD Blue.

Whisper A'Daire (Ruta Gedmintas)

She does not have good roles in films but she played good TV series characters for example Lip Service and recently The Strain. Whisper A'Daire  could be a nice role in the big screen.

Kyle Abbot (Richard Roxburgh)

Kyle Abbot is the lover and bodyguard of Whisper A’Daire so he’s a minor character in the plot. I confess that he was my random choice maybe I chose him because he plays usually villains.

Special Cast

Mr. De Sartre (Billy Bob Thornton)

In Story, Mr. De Sartre is a mysterious associate of the Intergang who finances the group with money and hi-tech weapons. I chose Billy Bob Thornton who is able to play sleazy characters like this one.

Veteran Lieutenant K. Nelson (Sean Bean)

I chose him because he’s a brilliant actor who is much underrated. Bean could play a World War II hero in the theaters because this character is perfect for him.

Plot

When a mysterious package is stolen of a secret government warehouse and a veteran lieutenant is kidnapped by a national criminal organization, a special US agent is assigned to summon nine incarcerated murderers to free the hostage and recover the package in exchange for commuted prison sentences.

 Trivia

  • When Deadshot asks Amanda Waller about the content of the package, she answers that it is a precious and historical object, but it is dangerous and deadly to be open by them. So she advises to not open the box if they want to live the rest of their lives.
  • When Cluemaster asks Amanda Waller about who is the geezer, she answers that the hostage is a war hero and member of a legendary Society.
  • The mission's codename is Pandora’s Box.
  • The Lieutenant K. Nelson met Vandal Savage during the World War II.
  • The Savage’s office is a true museum with a lot of antiques items. But ten items are special:
  1. Prehistoric hunting spear
  2. Egyptian striped headcloth
  3. Silver coin with the face of Alexander the Great.
  4. A tyrian purple costume
  5. A Hun sword
  6. A Mongol shield
  7. A Romanian fight costume
  8. A Pirate hat with two guns
  9. A Picture of the Napoleonic age
  10. A Walther P38
  • Clock King and Cluemaster are the responsible to elaborate every step of mission.
  • During a fight with Kyle Abbot in his werewolf form, Nanaue loses his left eye.
  • Deadshot calls ironically the veteran Lieutenant of Indiana Jones.
  • When the metahumans and magical members are close the package, they lose their powers.
  • The Shade keeps a secret of his past. He was a Religion of Crime's member during 1880s.
  • Poison Ivy is called of Red by Harley Quinn.
  • Mr. De Sartre is a strange hi-tech weapon dealer and a sadistic torturer.
  • The lieutenant’s mind becomes temporarily confused after the torture session of Mr. De Sartre.
  • When Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy free the Lieutenant Nelson of his cell, he says: “I’m sorry, ladies. I can’t help you without my helmet…” So Harley says “Poor geezer, the war already is over.”
  • When the confused lieutenant sees Ivy, he says: “Nice to see you again, Diana!”

Post-credits scene

After the final battle between the Intergang and the Squad, Mr. De Sartre is alone inside his weapons warehouse when a white light like a portal appears.

So he looks so nervous when a deep and authority voice is sounded:

The Voice: - How can you presume to summon me until this primitive place?
Mr. De Sartre: - I’m sorry if you spent your time, master. But I have precious information about your search.
The Master: - What are you waiting? Start to tell about your information, insolent servant?
Mr. Sartre: - This place has valuable earthlings that can help you in your search but some of them could be dangerous.
The Master: - Fascinating. We need to keep distance by now and discover the vulnerability of the most powerful beings, DeSaad. Then, they'll know the Apokolips power.
DeSaad: - Yes, Lord Darkseid.

The scene ends with one dark silhouette with two red eyes.

Enough with Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. Bear in mind I haven't seen her in The Wolf of Wall Street, nor anything else, but I'd like to see some originality.

The rest of the cast is fine.

By the way, would you please check out my Justice League International fancast and leave a comment?

Not a fan of some of these choices. Others are okay.

I really like it. Some unoriginal stuff sure, but you have some nice ideas. I'd prefer to see a less super powered Squad though. I don't like Smith as Deadshot though, or at least feel like there are better. Not because he's black, but doesn't seem like the right fit. Then again Tarantino did write Django Unchained with Smith in mind, and if Smith could pull off that smooth yet ruthless Django character then he could do Deadshot. Maybe I just haven't seen him in the right roles.

Hmm, not bad. Parasite and Ivy are really heavy-hitters to be adding to the team, though. I find - for me, at least - the Squad works best when they're out-gunned, or at least facing the serious possibility of being out-gunned.

I'd also like to see a few true D-list characters (like Blockbuster, Mindboggler, etc.) brought in specifically so they can be killed off during the film. Let's keep the ante (and mortality rate!) high, just like the comics.
