The usual idea for my Marvel Universe series is to release a new fan cast every month, but because all of you have been so receptive to my take on the characters I will be releasing TWO more this month. All nine Marvel Universe installments will culminate into THE AVENGERS next month... but here is THE INVINCIBLE IRON MAN!
JOEL KINNAMAN - TONY STARK/IRON MAN: Joel is an amazing actor, who is best known for his work on AMC's The Killing. If you look throughout all his roles on television and film, you would agree that Joel has the chops to play Tony Stark effictively. Yes, he is RoboCop in the upcoming reboot, but it doesn't matter.
CATE BLANCHETT - VIRGINIA "PEPPER" POTTS: To add some star power to the film, I cast Cate Blanchett as Pepper. That wasn't the main reason however, as I think Cate would be marvelous as Ms. Potts.
KEVIN SPACEY - OBADIAH STANE/IRON MONGER: Every origin film needs a villain that can be both a personal threat, and a workable threat, and so I decided to have Iron Monger be the villain with Kevin Spacey in the role. Spacey can take any role and make it special, so I immediately cast him when the idea came up.
ANTHONY MACKIE - COL. JAMES "RHODEY" RHODES: Mackie fits Rhodey perfectly, which is really the best thing I can say. I think Joel Kinnaman and Anthony Mackie would be good on screen together, and Mackie could easily pull off War Machine later.
JIM BROADBENT - EDWIN JARVIS: Edwin Jarvis, Tony Stark's butler, needs to be included. Tony needs all the help and support he can get, and Jim Broadbent would own as Jarvis.
GEORGE EADS - HAROLD "HAPPY" HOGAN: Happy is Tony's personal assistant, and George Eads I thought would be able to play the character.
JAMES HONG - HO YINSEN: James Hong is a respected actor, and so I thought it would be nice to have him play a character as important as Yinsen.
ELENA SATINE - NATASHA ROMANOFF/THE BLACK WIDOW: The last appearance Black Widow had was in ANT-MAN, so I decided to bring her back to help tie THE INVINCIBLE IRON MAN in better with THE AVENGERS. Elena Satine is a really good actress.
