Director: Gore Verbenski (Returning)

Plot

•The planet Mirinoi, 10,000+ years ago: Zordon fights Zedd as the green Ranger and imprisons him in a cube.
•Taking Zedd’s staff and stowing it away, Zordon flies away from the planet in the Dragon Monolith.
•Present: Tommy is shown training in a gym in California.
•As he strikes a punching bag, Tommy has quick flashbacks of the things he did under Goldar’s control.
•His fist strikes hardest and he stops when he recalls Jason’s death.
•Rocky DeSantos happens to be training at the same gym and, spotting Tommy, comes over to see if he’s okay.
•Tommy says he’s “fine” and, grabbing his gym bag, walks away.
•Billy is shown sitting alone in his office at Angel Grove University.
•He too has a flashback, his being of him locking his own Nano-Morpher up in a safe after Jason’s funeral.
•Kimberly is sent back out to California to do an update on her article for the martial arts tournament.
•After Tommy had gone missing in the last film, Rocky, Adam Park, and Aisha Campbell advanced as finalists and Kimberly is supposed to interview them.
•She introduces herself and gets to know them, but she gets distracted when she sees Tommy walk by behind them.
•Kimberly runs up to Tommy to talk to him, but he doesn’t seem very receptive, still upset over what he has done.
•Even she still seems uncomfortable around him because of his previous actions.
•Meanwhile, Finster visits the planet of Mirinoi with Squatt and Baboo.
•For whatever reason, all of the planet’s people had turned to stone long ago; Squatt and Baboo entertain themselves by destroying the frozen people as they go along.
•With Zedd’s staff in hand, Finster makes his way into a temple where the prison cube is being held.
•Using the staff, Finster opens the cube and frees Zedd.
•Finster toys with Zedd for a minute, acting as his master: “I hold the staff, and you will do as I say.”
•Zedd doesn’t take kindly to this and, even without the staff, he quickly kills Finster.
•Squatt and Baboo flee before they can become victims themselves and Zedd picks up his staff.
•Using the staff’s power, Zedd teleports away.
•Zack, Trini, Bulk, and Skull are at this time in the Middle East escorting a news crew.
•As their caravan goes down the road, Zedd appears in front of them.
•Zedd blows up the first truck, which holds some other soldiers.
•Zack and Trini get out of their truck and activate their Nano-Morphers.
•The news crew also gets out and starts to film the madness that begins to unfold.
•Zedd sandbags the Rangers for a few minutes, trying to get information from them on the whereabouts of Zordon.
•The footage of the fight goes live and Billy is shown watching it in his office.
•Growing impatient, Zedd decides to end the fighting.
•First he kills Zack by stabbing him through the gut with the pointed bottom of his staff.
•Trini is on the ground and Zedd is about to finish her as well, but Bulk and Skull come charging with their guns blazing.
•Zedd slowly walks towards them, deflecting their bullets.
•First he grabs Skull and throws him into a truck, snapping his neck and killing him, and then he quickly turns around and blows Bulk away with a blast from his staff.
•Trini, struggling, gets back to her feet, her armor busted and her helmet cracked open to expose her face.
•Zedd stands still let her get closer.
•Once she has reached him, Zedd grabs her by the throat and puts his staff under her jaw.
•“Where is Zordon?” He will ask one last time.
•When Trini refuses to tell him, Zedd blows her head off in a blinding flash of light.
•Billy yells out in anger, having watched all of this on television.
•Zedd then turns to the news crew and blasts them too.
•Billy’s television goes black.
•Going to his safe, Billy retrieves his Nano-Morpher.
•Tommy, unaware of what has happened, is hanging out with Rocky, Adam, and Aisha at a bar, trying to make new friends and move on with his life.
•He gets a call from Kimberly.
•She tells him that “something terrible has happened” and that he needs to get to The Fortress.
•When Kimberly and Tommy get there, Zordon explains what has happened to Zack and Trini.
•Kimberly asks where Billy is.
•“Probably exactly where we’d both like to be right now,” Tommy answers.
•Zedd stands on the edge of a cliff, looking down at a device in his hand.
•The screen is on, but nothing is shown.
•“Where are you?” Zedd asks himself in regards to Zordon.
•A small blip appears on the device’s screen and it appears to be coming up fast behind him.
•Out of nowhere, Billy hits Zedd from behind.
•Zedd is thrown off by this, but he gets up quickly from the strike.
•Again, Zedd sandbags for a bit, letting Billy release his anger on him.
•His impatience taking over, though, Zedd sways the fight back against Billy and nearly beats him to death, not even bothering to pick up his staff.
•Tearing off Billy’s helmet, Zedd once again tries to get Zordon’s location.
•Billy refuses to tell and is about to be killed when Tommy and Kimberly show up to save him.
•Zedd, reasonably, believes Tommy to be Zordon.
•Not wanting to further antagonize Zedd, they teleport away with the injured Billy back to The Fortress.
•Zedd returns to his device and resets it to track the Rangers’ teleportation signature.
•This shows him the location of The Fortress.
•Back at The Fortress Zordon explains who Zedd is.
•Before the three remaining Rangers can out together some sort of plan, Zedd shows up at The Fortress.
•The three Rangers move to attack, but Zedd spots the familiar face of Zordon behind them and knocks them all aside with ease.
•After some vengeful words, Zedd brings down the full power of his staff on Zordon’s life-support vessel.
•The explosion of the vessel kills Zordon and completely decimates The Fortress.
•Zedd teleports away, leaving the Rangers to the wreckage.
•Alpha and the Nano-Morphers have been thoroughly disabled.
•The three Rangers, left without direction or leadership, have no choice but to simply leave The Fortress and everything else behind.
•Their lives go on for a while without issue.
•Billy meets up with Kimberly months later and expresses his relief that the fighting is over.
•Angry that Billy could be so insensitive to their friends’ deaths, Kimberly storms off and leaves him alone in his office.
•In the months that have passed, Tommy has become good friends with his fellow martial artists and the four of them together are doing the final paperwork to open a martial arts school.
•After all of this time, Zedd resurfaces and destroys monuments all over the world in a symbolic gesture for his future takeover.
•He does this with the Monoliths which he has seized from the fallen Rangers, making them look responsible.
•Watching this on television, Tommy is upset as speculation stirs about the world coming to an end.
•“Military forces all over the world are trying to put an end to this terrorist’s attacks, but one question remains on everyone’s minds: who will rise up to face the Power Rangers?”
•Tommy returns to the ruins of The Fortress.
•Finding Alpha buried under a pile of rubble, Tommy looks him over in hopes of finding a way to reactivate him.
•He finds an outlet on Alpha’s back, running his fingers over it and looking around him for an answer.
•Near the base of where Zordon’s life-support vessel once stood, Tommy spots a dangling cord.
•Dragging Alpha over to the cord, Tommy plugs it into the outlet in his back.
•He kneels by Alpha for a minute waiting for a result, but nothing happens.
•Tommy gets up and starts to walk away, surrendering to defeat.
•“Tommy?” a voice behind him asks.
•Tommy goes back to the revived Alpha and wraps his arms around him.
•“It isn’t over,” Alpha’s static voice whispers.
•After fully recharging, Alpha rebuilds the Nano-Morphers and charges them with the same energy that revived him.
•Alpha explains that the new Nano-Morphers will coordinate with six different Monoliths that Zordon had kept hidden with Tommy’s old Dragon Monolith.
•“Also,” Alpha states, “you’re going to need a team.”
•Tommy gathers up Kimberly, Billy, Rocky, Adam, and Aisha and the six Rangers go after Zedd.
•A new Megalith appears and destroys the old Megalith before Zedd can use it to level Chicago.
•Down on the ground the Rangers confront Zedd, Tommy wearing new, white armor and Rocky, Adam, and Aisha taking the places of the red, black, yellow Rangers.
•So on and so forth, the Rangers defeat Zedd, Tommy using his own staff to vaporize him.
•Thus, this new team of Rangers is left to defend Earth from future enemies.
•Credits roll.
•Alpha is shown making repairs to The Fortress.
•He hooks up the life-support vessel’s charging cord to its old port and light fills the room.
•A small reflection of a lighted face appears in Alpha’s visor and he quietly mutters…
•“Zordon?”
•The end.
Returning Characters:

Zordon- The once Ambassador of the planet Eltar. When he had been an Eltarian Ranger, Zordon was responsible for imprisoning Zedd in a cube similar to the one in which he imprisoned Rita Repulsa. For this he killed by Zedd upon freedom from his prison.

Alpha takes it upon himself to bring the Rangers back together and equips them with the means to defeat his master’s killer.

Tommy Oliver- Tommy is a professional martial artist. He was also the corrupted green Ranger, but he is now freed from Goldar’s control and hopes to redeem himself. After Zordon is killed and the dragon Nano-Morpher is destroyed, Alpha will use the power from the wreckage of the Eltarian’s life-support vessel to charge a new, tiger Nano-Morpher and Monolith. Tommy is given these weapons to lead the Rangers in vengeance against Zedd.

Billy Cranston- Billy has remained secluded since he lost his best friend, Jason. After Zedd kills Zack and Trini, Billy goes to fight him alone and furious that more of his friends have been take. He is nearly killed himself and rejoins the team after his loss.

Casting: Andrew Garfield

Trini Kwan- This yellow Ranger just happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time when Zedd lands on Earth. After interrogating her and Zack to learn Zordon’s location, Zedd doesn’t get the answers he wants. He thus kills her and Zack.

Casting: Jun Ji-hyun

Zack Taylor- Zack gets caught in the same situation as situation as Trini and is killed by Zedd early on.

Bulk and Skull- These two comically fueled characters are also killed when they try to step in to save Zack and Trini.

New Characters:

Rocky DeSantos- Rocky is a martial artist that competes in Tommy’s circuit. After Zordon is killed, Rocky is called up by Tommy to take the place of the red Ranger.

Casting: Diego Luna

Adam Park- Adam is a martial artist that competes in Tommy’s circuit. After Zordon is killed, Adam is called up by Tommy to take the place of the black Ranger.

Casting: Rain

Aisha Campbell- Aisha is a martial artist that competes in Tommy’s circuit. After Zordon is killed, Aisha is called up by Tommy to take the place of the yellow Ranger.

Zedd- Before Zordon became an ambassador to Eltar he was an Eltarian Ranger himself. In that time, his greatest enemy was Zedd. Zedd was the emperor of the planet Mirinoi and Zordon wanted to free its people from a tyrannical rule. Zedd was imprisoned in a cube (like Rita) and was kept locked away in a temple on Mirinoi. The only thing that could free him would be his staff, with which Finster comes to Mirinoi and frees Zedd. Zedd then kills Finster and goes to Earth to enact his revenge on Zordon.

Casting: Johnny Depp

^A very inspired choice. Mostly, I was thinking that his Sweeney Todd voice would be could for the role. The character himself will probably be CGI anyway.

Other:

New Nano-Morphers- Zedd manages to kill Zordon and destroy all of the original Nano-Morphers. With all of Zordon’s years in his life-support vessel he had begun to self-sustain his energy and even began to fuel the vessel with his own essence. Thus, after he is killed Alpha is able to use leftover energy from the vessel to charge these new devices.

New Monoliths/Megalith- These Monoliths had been left hidden deep in the ocean along with the Dragon Monolith for thousands of years. They had been left alone because the old Nano-Morphers could not have activated them. However, Alpha designs the new Nano-Morphers to fit their operation patterns and this awakens them. The Tiger Monolith, however, is a completely new construction which had been Alpha’s project for years.

I feel that you're getting trigger happy with killing rangers, your second and first movie is perfect! and I feel like you kind rushed through this one. Don't kill off Zack and Trini, just say they couldn't bare the lost of Jason and decide to hand in their morphers
