Dark Tower Adaptation Moving Forward

With some Oscar winning power behind it in the form of Ron Howard

According to Heat Vision Blog and Chud.com - it appears that Stephen King's epic gunslinger saga is moving forward with it's film adaptation AND a TV series to follow.

The team of Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Akiva Goldsman are looking to make a movie first that will lead into a series for tv. No official word on which studio it will be but it looks like Universal is in the running.

The movie and series will likely be based on the books directly and not Marvel's comic run, so the film and series might end up being very, very convoluted. But at least we have Ron Howard getting this thing up and running. Maybe it just takes some Academy Award winning juice to get this epic off the ground.

F@ckin sweet!!! I can't imagine seeing Roland on the big screen.

So will the movie just be the Gunslinger? And then the series will be the following books?

Sounds like a cool concept. Still kinda scary cause we all know King's film adaptations are hit and miss. Still, something as epic as the Dark Tower on the bis screen is well worth the risk.

FOLLOW THE BOOKS!!!one problem though..seven books....does that mean seven movies???think about he young boy JAKE CHAMBERS he was young in all seven books..it would take quite some time to make GOOD films.and a boy of 12 - 14 would age signifigantly over the course of even three movies (puberty) But Hollywood does find ways around thes things..more than any other series I would love to see thes books on film hands down
