With only two weeks to go, Apple TV+ has released the official trailer for Sean Anders' Spirited, an upcoming Christmas musical comedy that will put a fantastical spin on the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol, with Ryan Reynolds (DeadpoolFree Guy) and Will Ferrell (Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy; Step Brothers) starring in the lead roles.

The Instant Family director also co-wrote the screenplay with John Morris.

The plot is relatively self-explanatory, as the film will essentially be a modern-day adaptation of A Christmas Carol, with Clint Briggs (Reynolds) serving in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge, a man who will meet three Ghosts - Past (Sunia Mani), Present (Ferrell), and Yet to Come (Loren G. Woods) - over the holidays who will help him become a better man. However, in a fresh spin on the tale, the new film will also reveal the perspective of the ghosts.

In addition to Reynolds and Ferrell, the film stars Octavia Spencer, Sunita Mani, Patrick Page, Aimee Carrero, Joe Tippett, Marlow Barkley, Jen Tullock, P.J. Byrne, and Loren G. Woods.

Spirited hits theaters on November 11 and starts streaming on Apple TV+ on November 18.

Check out the official trailer below:

Imagine Charles Dickens’ heartwarming tale of a scrooge visited by four ghosts on Christmas Eve—but funnier. And with Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds, and Octavia Spencer. Also, huge musical numbers. Okay, we’re asking a lot. Maybe just watch the trailer?

As an avid Will Ferrell fan, I say he needs to retire or get a new agent. And good ol Ryan playing himself in everything gets old

@bobevanz - It's really unfortunate that Ferrell and Adam McKay had a falling out, because I was really hoping for another one of their comedies.

Why must companies continue to release Christmas movies and shows in November. Even the grocery stores are blaring Mariah already, I'm not in the mood for Christmas until Thanksgiving is over and I've watched Planes Trains and Automobiles for the thousandth time

I'm willing to bet these two had a good bit of fun working together. And I bet there's plenty of people who will smile just to see Will Ferrell in another Christmas movie. I prefered the teaser trailer though.
