Alfonso Cuaron Denies Directing HARRY POTTER Spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Gravity director Alfonso Cuaron has denied that he is being lined up to direct the Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them since he has been named as a hot favourite,

Oscar winning director Alfonso Cuaron has ruled himself out of directing Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them based on the Hogwarts textbooks of the same name.

Cuaron told Spannish news agency EFE "It was a very beautiful experience for me. I have a lot of love for that universe and I tremendously admire JK Rowling, but today, for the present, projects based around lots of visual effects don't attract me."

"I'm coming out of a five-year process of doing visual effects and now I sort of want to clean my palate of that a little bit." David Heyman will produce the fisrt film in a planned trilogy, which will be about a "magizoologist" named Newt Scamander with the film due for release on Novemebr 18th 2016.

Greats news to hear in my opinion. I didn't like his version of the Prisoner of Azkaban and that was one of the best in the series.

Chris Columbus did an amazing job putting in place this world. It felt like it was taken straight from the books, whether it was Privet Drive, Diagon Alley, Hogwarts.

After what Cuaron did with PoA, that's a huge relief to me. The film had lost the special flavour the two first films had.
