Jon Voight One Of Three Stars Set To Join FANTASTIC BEASTS & WHERE TO FIND THEM

The cast of Warner Bros' upcoming Harry Potter spin-off keeps getting better and better - and they've added some diversity to boot. According to THR, veteran actor Jon Voight and talented young stars Gemma Chan and Carmen Ejogo have all joined the cast of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. The movie is a prequel of sorts to the beloved wizarding series, and follows magiczoologist 'Newt Scamander' on his travels in the US documenting magical creatures.

Voight may be more of a household name, but his incoming co-stars have also impressed lately. Chan had a starring role in the AMC/Channel 4 sci-fi series Humans, while Ejogo was quietly great as Coretta Scott King in Ava DuVernay's Selma last year. No details were disclosed about their respective parts, but they'll join a talented ensemble that already includes the likes of Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Colin Farrell and future-Flash Ezra Miller.

The movie will be helmed by longtime franchise director David Yates, working from a script written by J.K. Rowling herself. What are your thoughts on these three new additions? Are you excited about the expanded Potter universe? As always, leave your thoughts in the comments below!

You can find Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them in theatres November 18, 2016.

@RorMachine Are they changing up the timeline for this movie to be after the events of Harry Potter? I know that in the book it takes place long before Harry is even born

Is Voight the first American actor to join the HP franchise?

The only thing that sucks about this movie is David Yates. It's gonna have to be something amazing to convince me to see another of his butchered Harry Potter ventures.

Last time I checked Ezra Miller and Dan Fogler are Americans and they are in the movie.
