Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend—and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

CGI looks a little weak at parts, but other than that it looks good.

Better work on that CG, otherwise...

Yes, and it's also the guy that directed the best X-Men movie.

This does look rubbish though. Bad CGI, cringey dialog, looks to be pretty sub par acting too. Course you can't tell everything from a trailer but I'll have to hear great things before seeing it based on this.

What a lovely analogy. I'm sure at least 3 or 4 people value your opinion on movies..I'm not one of them..but thanks for sharing.

Greengo

Yeah, imo neither were very good but X2 was a significant improvement from X1 and First Class was the best. Superman Returns sucked...

He wasn't the 1st to do a great job adapting comics to film, unless you're only referring to Marvel.

The stand out is The Usual Suspects.

You don't have to agree with me I just think he should stick to producing lol : )

IDK, it looks like a fun action movie to sleep though. I think I'll wait for the DVD. I'm not convinced honestly that Jack is worth this tale being retold... :P

@Dionysios I think he meant X2, seeing as how Singer didn't direct Last Stand ;).

@KamenRiderJ22 Admit it, you got owned my friend.

the teaser lookedp retty cool but man... this looks horrible. I fault the script mostly. It seems to play into some of the most awful and played out jokes you could imagine. Really? Rolling them up in dough? Nearly stabbed in the crotch? and countless other bits and gags.

To cap it all off though you have some pretty piss poor cgi.

I'd like to say that anything with Ian McShane, as a king especially, would be worth watching, but even his minor role can't possible be worth this.

looks terrible. cliche characters. cliche dialogue. boring story. terrible cgi.

bryan singer's a good director when he's not on CBMs. here's his track record with CBMs:

x-men: meh
x2: good, but nothing spectacular
superman returns: abomination

@KamenRiderJ22 I'm sorry, do you consider someone who's 21 to be a "kid"? And I'm sorry, you posted on a public forum. If you wanted your little escapade to be your own "business", you should have done it elsewhere.

I don't know why they've chosen to mix in Jack and the beanstalk with Jack the Giant Killer because they are two completely different tales. it's not going to be more accurate than the 1962 version I grew up with..

Their dialogue is way too modern, they've chosen to go the way of humour for this flick so I hope it works out for them in a Monty Python way otherwise they've just shot themselves in the foot.

I thought the CGI in Rise of the Planet of the Apes looked crap from the trailers. But when you're actually in the cinema and completely involved with the story it doesn't matter. I didn't not watch Pete's Dragon as a kid because the dragon looked fake haha
I had no interest in this film before this trailer but now there is some growing inside me. Though to be honest I probably won't see it unless there's nothing else out at the time and some friends want to go to the movies.
I don't know why this got the green light, or any other live action movies based on fairy tales, I don't think that people really want them. They could all be great movies but people aren't going to go see movies that don't intrigue them.
