It seems that Steven Spielberg is staying in the high-concept game, but this time it's on the small screen. The LA Times reports on Amblin's plans for TV:

What could the new series be about however? Amblin developed a fantasy project for TNT back in 2014 called "Lumen" which saw a high-profile author akin to J.K. Rowling dissapear, with a family following her into the mythical world from her books, but this was never realized beyond a pilot script.
Spielberg himself helmed an adaptation of Roald Dahl's The BFG in 2016, which was so unremarkable that the novel's already being re-adapted by Netflix. Spielberg also famously - or infamously - ghost-direced (no pun intended) 1982's horror/fantasy "Poltergeist", which spawned two sequels, a television series and a 2015 reboot from producer Sam Raimi.
Let's not dwell on Spielberg's "Hook"...hey, everyone makes mistakes.
So, what do you think the new TV series will be about? With Spielberg involved, it's safe to assume it will involve a family or a parent/child releationship in some capacity, but whatever the case it's exciting to have him still coming up with new stories at this point in his career!
