The Lone Ranger Rides Again!

Video uploaded to Youtube just last week from “Clevver Movies” talks Disney’s Lone Ranger once again

The news creeps slowly through the media about the anticipated Lone Ranger movie with Johnny Depp as Tonto, and, perhaps, even a possibility of George Clooney playing The Lone Ranger himself. Even though nothing brand spanking new is up right now about the new Lone Ranger movie’s production, we are happy to get the little things when they are handed to us!

The following is a video, which was uploaded to Youtube just last week from “Clevver Movies,” is talking about Disney’s upcoming Lone Ranger movie, which I found a little interesting. The movie promises to be lighthearted instead of being a more gritty, action filled western [are we thinking Clint Eastwood when we think gritty?]. I guess this is partly to do with, firstly, being done by Disney studios, and, secondly, for the simple fact that not too much violence will produce a larger crowd [as if Johnny Depp alone wouldn’t do it!] Also, as we’ve already heard, the video talks of Johnny Depp’s Cherokee Indian roots as well, which he is proud to have; and the movie gives him the opportunity to salute Indians who have been portrayed through a bad light in Hollywood movie history.

Since the movie, as was also already mentioned, is to be the origin story, we can only imagine what goodies will be involved; but I suspect that it will go through the Ranger’s involvement in the ambush of the Texas Rangers, which left him being (of course) the Lone Ranger ~ for the others were slaughtered . . . hey, I thought there were still other Rangers! Anyways, this gives opportunity for Tonto to find his friend, of whom he had already known, and the opportunity of saving his life. Donning a mask, so he won’t be recognized by those ambushing side-winders, of whom he and Tonto are going to go and find. Then they, after righting the wrongs, will fight a never-ending battle against the enemys of truth, justice, stopped watches, decency, bran flakes, and the right to bare arms! . . . got a little carried away.

Well, it may not go exactly like that, but that’s similar as to how it happened in the old serial. I for one am looking very much forward to this rendition, for I was a little disappointed in the remake from 1981, entitled: “The Legend of the Lone Ranger.” However, I’m a sucker for those old serials with Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels ~ why I can just hear the theme song [William Tell’s overture] right now!

“A fiery horse with the speed of light, a cloud of dust and a hearty Hi-Yo Silver! The Lone Ranger rides again!’”

Out of all the upcoming movies (with the exception of Disney's Brave, Pirates of the Caribbean 4 and Marvel's Thor), I'm looking forward to Bruckheimer's "The Lone Ranger" more than anything else. The Lone Ranger will be the best Disney movie since Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

@TruFaith - I'm also looking very much forward to this film! However, and even though Johnny Depp will be excellent as Tonto, there still remains a Lone Ranger to be officially announced, and that could make or break the film ~ despite 'ol Johnny being there! For Johnny will not be the only star of the film, but equal billing will go toward whomever they get as the Ranger.
