GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Vol. 2 Actress Zoe Saldana Reveals An Intriguing New AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Detail

When Zoe Saldana was asked about the Guardians' inevitable team-up with Earth's Mightiest Heroes in next year's Avengers: Infinity War, she seemed to let slip a very interesting new tidbit...

Next year will see the highly anticipated first meeting of James Gunn's team of intergalactic A-holes and Earth's Mightiest Heroes in The Russo Brothers' Avengers: Infinity War, and thanks to Zoe Saldana (Gamora) we might now have a slightly better idea of what to expect.

Up until now, the general assumption was that Thanos' quest for the Infinity Stones would take him to earth, which, in turn, would bring The GOTG down to Star-Lord's home planet where they'd first encounter The Avengers. However, when asked how both teams would interact upon their first meeting during an interview with Fandango, Saldana teased that there would be some tension at first, before adding: "We’re also in space, so we’re not being held by gravity. And you know we’re stronger."

So, while the heroes will almost certainly journey to earth together at some point, this definitely seems to suggest that they will first lay eyes on each other in a more cosmic setting. We already know that Thanos will send his servants to earth to retrieve The Vision's Infinity Stone, so perhaps his teammates decide to travel to the stars in an attempt to get the jump on an imminent invasion?

All will be revealed when Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters next year, but for now be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.

It was understood through a Marvel video some time ago that they were going to have action going on in many locals at once... on earth and elsewhere. I personally am hoping Strange creates portals throwing heroes to whatever action they need to be in at the time.

Can you imagine the Hulk just appearing out of nothing in a massive fight?

I think her point was that, in universe, the planets they are on have less(?) gravity than on earth making the guardians stronger than those from earth, although as illustrated in John Carter, and science, in actuality it would be the opposite.

@MNLawyer - less gravity hurts muscles which makes them weaker. You are correct. The science behind it just makes her look a bit uninformed. She can get a pass because she's gorgeous.

Zoe not having gravity actually makes muscles deteriorate at a fast rate due to non use. So good try, but you're incorrect you gorgeous gorgeous specimen.
