Howard the Duck first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe when he showed up at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy, but the fan-favourite character made a surprise return in the sequel as well.

In a near blink and you'll miss it
moment, Howard the Duck could be seen drinking with a date and telling her that "You're out of luck until you go duck." It wasn't a particularly meaningful scene but was a lot of fun and it now remains to be seen when we'll see Howard make his return (Vol. 3 seems likely).

In the meantime, a new piece of concept art has appeared online which features a slightly different take on his design which is a little more in keeping with how his comic book counterpart currently looks. What do you guys think of this artwork? Let us know in the comments section down below.

It's a duck who's loved by a fine fine woman. Respect.

A Rocket, Groot and Howard team-up movie would be awesome. Could even bring Cosmo as well.

Howard the Duck movie starring Seth Green, Gillian Jacobs as Beverly Switzler, Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Bong. Screenplay by Dan Harmon. Directed by Adam McKay.

There, Feige. I just made you a cool 700 million. My only request is that you let Howard smoke a damn cigar...

@Spock0Clock - Need to see more of him before i can say. But i dont think he should get his own film as of now.

@LordBillCipher - How will we see more of him if he's just a Guardians cameo every three years? The time is now! Or even better, the time was the day after Deadpool proved there was an audience for it!

This guy was my least favourite part of Vol 2. I have a pretty high tolerance for what I can accept is the world of a film, but I couldn't fit this thing with the world I'd bought into. It may have been CGI but it was still straight up just a cartoon. It was like a scene from Space Jam or Roger Rabbit. I get that he's an alien or something, whatever, so he's not supposed to look like an actual duck. But this thing was pretty much Daffy Duck. If I have to accept that he lives in this world, then my view of the world has to be much more cartoonish and parody-based than it was from the first movie. I can accept that the Guardians and the Avengers live in the same universe. Until you tell me Civil War is taking place at the same time a cartoon duck is hanging out with hookers.

@connorblaze - He bothered me more in the Vol. 1 post-credit. I think the Vol. 2 design is better, but the lighting was a bit funky. If we ever (fingers crossed) get a proper feature length version then I'm sure he'll seem more real since they will have put much more work into him as a character instead of just an Easter egg.

@connorblaze - I'm in the same universe that you, so it's possible.

Over-problematization everywhere.

@connorblaze - No offense, but your complaints are dumb.

It's the Marvel universe. So, yes, Civil War is taking place in a universe that includes talking ducks and raccoons, and sentient planets. Get over it.

@connorblaze - I agree with you. It is so off putting just to get little children to go ooohhh its Howard the Duck...all at the sacrifice of the audiences suspension of disbelief. I liked the film, but one of the reasons I think it was not received as well critically was because Disney keeps wanting to venture off into cartoon-land.

@connorblaze - So the talking, walking fighting tree and racoon are ok...

Howard the Duck is a really cool, weird character.

Make it happen, Marvel!

I hope they always keep him down to a cameo.. and he probably wont be seen again for a while after Gunn makes VOL3.

I'd love to see a series or even a new Howard movie.

Cameos are all I want of Howard. If you want more, you can always watch the movie that came out in the '80's. Awful movie.
