There has been a bit amount of news here and there when it comes to Marvels' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but not much in the way of Nebula (Karen Gillan), adoptive daughter of Thanos and adoptive sister of Gamora. The relationship between them both was explored fairly in Guardians of the Galaxy, but now that Gamora has officially joined the "good" side, what does that mean in terms of their relationship between the sisters in the sequel?

Comic Book Resources recently spoke to Karen Gillan during the premiere of "The Big Short" about her role in the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel. When asked about whether or not she has received a script for the film, Gillan stated, "I have! I took it in my hands, because they don't send it over by email; they deliver it by hand and it was so cool. I was so excited, and I ran upstairs, and I put on the soundtrack, the Awesome Mixtape 2, and then got into it. It's so good."
It sounds like that the script must be in its final drafts if they're handing them out to the actors. It also sounds like that the Awesome Mixtape Vol. 2 is officially done and put together for the sequel. She was then asked about what she was excited about most plotwise when it came to her character.
"I think what I'm really excited about it delving into the sisterly relationship between Gamora and Nebula. I think that we're going to see a little bit more of that, and it's going to be a bit more fleshed out." It's interesting to hear that we'll be getting more character and relationship development between the sisters. It is something to look forward to.

One of the most taxing aspects of films like these is the countless hours of sitting in a makeup chair and the uncomfortable costumes. Gillan also spoke about how ready she was this time around. "I kind of... I was mentally prepared to go through it again. It's so cool. The finished product is so cool that it's just so worth it when I see it at the end." She definitely sounds ready to go at it again. She finished off talking about Director James Gunn and his enthusiasm for the sequel. "'Infectious' is the word. James Gunn is the most enthusiastic. He's on this natural high the whole time. And it just makes us so excited about it. He just knows the world inside out. He's so passionate about it. The whole thing has come from him. It's totally his vision. It hasn't been compromised at all. It's completely down to him. So that's the most exciting thing."  Are you excited to see the daughters of Thanos go at it again?

Sound off below and let us know what you think!

She was VERY underutilized in the first film, but I know there's a great performance and character there. Within the one deleted scene where she confronts Gamora, she convinced me she could be intimidating and have presence, nothing else in the movie indicated that other than her visually striking features. She just needs screentime, a meaty arc, and some great dialogue for Karen and boom! You get a really great female villain.

Gunn brought her back for a reason, and he even admitted to cutting down a great deal of the villain stuff in the first film in favor of the heroes because the pace called for it. Point being, I doubt he would just bring her back simply because she was alive at the end of the first film, he brought her back for a reason and I believe it will be a very compelling reason, makes me very excited.

Nice, haha. Thumbed!

Nebula was one of the highlights of GOTG for me, hopefully she has a role in IW and it's similar to her role in the Infinity Gauntlet comic

Haha, No joke, I'd love to see Nebula looking like she did at the beginning of Infinity Gauntlet, and then they can play with her role after that

The scenes between her and Thanos would be cool, but I'm almost 99.5% sure that it won't happen

@DrKinsolving

I think Gillan would have a lot of fun playing that role too, I could totally see that, it could add some more depth to Thanos too

@EricBorder

Yeah man, right on

@FrozenJoy

No Infinity Gauntlet for Nebula in the movies though, imo, haha....

This could work though, bring on Mephisto

DrKinSolving - Is Mephisto making love with Thanos' arm?!

@DeusExSponge

Yes.

And, when Mephisto tells Thanos that he's going to "Relieve" him of his "Burden of Supremacy", I think we all know what that really means

One of the best practical makeup jobs I've seen. Flawless beauty.

At least Marvel decided not to kill her character like they do with every other villain besides Loki and Thanos. Hopefully she can make it out of GOTG2 as well.

Haha, for some reason you just painted a picture in my head of Sinatra singing Last Caress

And, when Fantastic Four come back to Marvel, along with Kang, Silver Surfer, and Galactus.... there's going to be a parade in NYC, with a giant Jack Kirby float and lots of food and alcohol and cigars and a national holiday will be created

She looked great as Nebula. Too bad she wasn't utilized well. I was hoping she'd be a badass like Faora was.

I'm glad were getting more of her; I want her to be like the Faora of the GOTG.

@pointman - "Hopefully the poor girl will be allowed to grow her hair out for this one."

'Allowed'? Dude, she just shaved it on a whim without even telling them about it. The cast and crew we're surprised by it. They didn't tell her she had to go and shave it...

This badass image would fit well with Gillan discussing Nebula & Gamora.

When they're discussing being mentally prepared & the time commitment for makeup/costumes, you'd think it was the right opportunity for the interviewer to ask if she will shave her head again or not.

It doesn't affect me either way. I completely understand & don't blame her if she doesn't, I just thought it'd be question worth asking, ya know??

Haha, Axl would work too, definitely not a happy picture. I love backwards covers, or like turning a minor into a major key and vice versa, and dissonance and all that stuff it's really fun to mess with

I listened to some Stravinsky a few weeks ago, and I love that story about the first time they performed "Rite of Spring" and it literally caused a riot, haha. Our ears are so different than theirs were back then, just how we interpret everything and what were used too, I don't think anything really phases us today, it's actually kind of sad....

@dethpillow

Yeah man, exactly, it's hard to describe, haha

It's almost like there are so many layers today, and so many walls blocking us.... back in the day, it was you and the comic book, but today, there's you, the Internet, the comics, blogs, youtube, etc, etc. I really have to tell myself to shut everything off to enjoy things a lot of the time

When you read a comic back in the day, you couldn't go online and get a review in 2 seconds, you know, you had to find out things for yourself in a lot of ways.

And, that's what I mean about Stravinsky, when that audience heard "Rite of Spring" for the first time, Stravinsky had a direct line into their ear drum, haha. And, they never heard anything like that.... and then that, combined with Nijinsky's choreography, and just the nature of what they were seeing, people just went crazy.

And, I guess that can happen today, but it's not for the same reasons, it's definitely a hard thing to explain, haha

Exactly, good analogies too. Crazy stuff, today, haha. I can't even imagine 10 - 15, or even 20 years from now.... either we're going to keep moving in this direction, or somehow start reverting backwards.... Holograms are the next big thing, haha, for me, at least, that's what I'm waiting for, going outside and being greeted by a Hologram, or having a conversation at home, and instead of facetime.... it's a Hologram of your friends or family. And, it's all a matter of money and time, because the technology is already there
