IRON MAN 3: Hot Toys Reveal Their 'Pepper Potts' And 'Iron Man Mark IX' Combo Pack

They should rerelease all of the old Hot Toys with bare feet and call it The Joss Whedon editions.

Thanks a lot. I had almost wiped the aberration that was Iron Man 3's Extremis Pepper in a black bra from memory...

Urgh. What a shit-tastic film that was. No wonder it derailed the runaway Iron Man MCU films and thoughts of any Iron Man 4.

Yeah, a movie with a 79% Rotten Tomatoes score from critics and moviegoers as well as takings of over $1.2 billion worldwide "derailed" the franchise. Utterly clueless.

@JoshWilding

Box office taking are NOT the definition of a good film. And - LOL - please Josh, don't tell me you swear by Rotten Tomatoes, Plenty of crap films make crap tons of money - (ie; Bay's Transformers films) - and Superman Returns has 76% ($400 million) and that was a steaming pile.

Everyone know IM3 was crap. Not you nor a Hot Toys $300 dolly article is going to convince anyone otherwise.

Well I liked Iron Man 3 for what it is.

It is fun.

So what if the Mandarin was [frick]ed up he wasn't actually the real article.

The kid wasn't that bad.

It wasn't comic accurate isn't a good excuse for companion either since there haven't been a lot of accuracy in Marvek movies but they have just enough to appeal to the the fans too.

This film was just as good and accurate to the comics as Ant-Man. I would argue it's actually more accurate to the comics. That doesn't make it a good film, but it helps to put Ant-Man into perspective.

Iron Man III sucked on SO many levels.

SO many levels.

Watch each and every Marvel Studios film in sequence, leave out Iron Man III, and you won't even miss it.

TOTAL non-sequitur.

Iron Man III: Iron Man NEVER Shows Up.

Fecking PATHETIC excuse for an Iron Man movie.

Josh, you and I rarely disagree, but this time, no way. Iron Man III was a DISGRACE, and The Mandarin was offered up as a willing sacrifice to The Han (ChiComs) to gain access to their theater market, which turned out not to be all that much, in the big scheme.

Iron Man III is a PATHETIC excuse for an Iron Man film. Iron Man II is FAR better, for all the grief it gets.

Iron Man never even made an appearance in Iron Man III.

Not ONCE.

And, yeah, I'm resurrecting this tired old parody, "The TRUE Origins of all Hail the King":

[SCENE: Kevin Feige, in his Marvel studios office, pacing up and down, with Drew Pearce and Shane Black on their knees with hands behind their heads, cowering on the carpet...]

FEIGE [raging]: "What the HELL did you do to THE MANDARIN???? Who the HELL do you think your work for?? Sony? FOX??? On your KNEES, you little clowns! Omigod, how the hell do we fix this??? Okay. Okay. Okay. BREATHE, Kevin...THINK! Okay. Okay. What the HELL is that smell? PEARCE? Did you? SEROIUSLY???? Omigod! This stench is even worse than your little "twist"!

FEIGE [Breathing heavily, on the point of hyperventilating]: "Okay. Okay. One point four billion dollars, just keep thinking one point four billion dollars. Calm. CALM. Ignore the calls from Esposito. Just IGNORE them!

FEIGE [Holds hands palm-down, practicing Tai-Chi]: "Dammit, you little shits. I got comic book fans from the 1960s crawling up my ASS with switchblades and iodine, we GOTTA fix this! YOU! Black! How do we fix this?"

BLACK [Stammers]: "Uuuuuuhhhhhhh, Sirrrr, we turn Trevor into Fin Fang Foom?"

FEIGE [Enraged]: "NOOOOO!!!!! GodDAMNit! You don't get the point! Do I have to call in Brett Snyder to feck it up even more??? Pearce! YOU!!!! Quit crapping your pants! I need ANSWERS, punk! IDEAS!"

PEARCE: "We get Thanos, dressed as a homeless guy in a wetsuit, caught in the middle of autoerotic asphyxiation for profit, and he turns out to actually be a cross-dressing lesbian from Toledo with a fixation for Rogue..."

FEIGE: *slap! slap!!!* "GodDAMMIT! You little BITCH! You KNOW we don't have the rights to the X-Men in the movie world! Try again! Think HARDER, Pearce!!!"

PEARCE: *whimpers* "Okay, OKAY! SIR! MISTER Feige! I try's and be's REEEEAAAAAL god f'um now on, suh! How 'bouts we go wif' Missuh Trevuh into de PRISON! And den he be po-teck-ted by a BIG bruthah, whi respeck hims f'um his crim'nul per-SWAY-shun!"

FEIGE [Calming down, sitting down slowly in executive chair behind his desk]: "You still ain't sold me. Keep talking." *Fingers Cat 'O Nine Tails*

PEARCE [glancing sideways to Black's punctuational nods in approval as he expounds]: "YAS-suh! He struts 'roun de mess hall, have hims a face-down wif some white suprem'cist, you know, creepin' all up in his grille, mean-muggin' him, 'den he goes him back to him's PRIME cell, an' some reporter type plays like he axin' him kurstions 'bout bein' de MAN-jrin, den de reportah dude bus'es him out, and drags his ass to de REAL Man-jrin, and Justin Hammer, he playin' wif his bitch in de KAWN-duh!"

FEIGE: *Puts down the Cat'O Nine Tails* "Okay, you little bitches. Change your underwear, and get to work. And NEXT time you work on a Marvel Studios movie, if EVER, make DAMN sure you check with Head Office FIRST. Capiche? 'Cause you cause me another tempest with the comic fans pissed off because you changed a major supervillain into a joke, like those little WORMS did turning Galactus into a fart-cloud, it won't matter HOW much you make for us! And you know what happens when you f*ck with supervillains while under contract to Marvel...STUDIOS!!!!"

BLACK and PEARCE [in unison]: "Yassuh! We's be's workin' for Wawnah Bruthahs!"

Feige: *snorts* "Yup. Now, get to work, bitches. [Unzips pants] Get on your knees, kiss THE Ring, and FIX THIS FANBOY CLUSTERF*CK!!!!"

*Black and Pearce scuttle out of Feige's office and create "All Hail the King"*

[frick] you guys for making such idiotic comments that Wilding comes across as the paragon of common sense and wisdom. That's apparently what Iron Man 3 hate does to fanboys - it turns them into hyperbolic outrage machines who simply have no clue. It's okay to dislike the movie for your own fanboy reasons, but at least try to be smart about it. That's not too much to ask.

Jesus guys... I just came to ask where the Quicksilver figure is like I usually do.

I disliked Iron Man 3 for the longest time, but when I went back to it and just watched it for what it is - it was still an alright film.

However, it half killed the canon of the MCU for the sake of being politcally correct - hopefully it's something Marvel learned not to do again. I mean, you could've made Killian an asian villain (Mandarin was an Asian business man in recent times) at least if you aren't going to do the original version of the Mandarin...

@SauronsBANE when did you become the great Wilding defender? And nice going labelling others "dumb" ("making such idiotic comments... but at least try to be smart about it").

There were ramifications to the Iron Man franchise after IM3. That load of bullshit 'One shot' was done because the MCU realized they fuccked up with the Mandarin kerfuffle. People getting pissed about IM3 from within the nerd community was expected and there WAS a negative taint to the movie after it was released, which most certainly could have affected the studio heads view on what to do with the franchise moving forward.

If people are so dumb for believing that there was a fall-out from things that happened with IM3 then why isn't there an announcement for IM4 on such a "no-brainer"? The stupid people may be on to something... but in all honesty I think that they'll just recast come phase 4 (downey too pricey / pain in the ass), but jesus, man, you have to step down off that high-horse sometimes.

SIDE NOTE: Still stand by my opinion that the first 2/3rd's of IM3 were possibly the best CBM to date... sadly the last 1/3 was such a kick in the nuts that it ruined it.

@xcan Look back at my comment again. That entire first sentence of "[frick] you guys for making such idiotic comments that Wilding comes across as the paragon of common sense and wisdom." meant that I didn't WANT to become "the great Wilding defender". It's just that, yes, the completely idiotic comments of several users here actually made me agree with him. You KNOW it's bad when users make Wilding look like he's the most rational and level-headed person here.

As for the rest of your comment, that One-Shot was nothing more than fan-service to appease the fanboys who were outraged about the movie. That's it. The "real" Mandarin isn't going to show up in any actual movie, which shows that the Marvel higher-ups aren't backing down from ANYTHING they chose to do with Iron Man 3. The comments that made it seem like Shane Black went behind Feige's back with the Mandarin and that now all the executives are pissed off about Iron Man 3 and that it "derailed" the franchise and all that...yes, those are objectively dumb, idiotic, statements to make that are coming from a place of extreme ignorance.

There hasn't been an announcement for Iron Man 4 because Iron Man 4 was never in the works. A lot of people seemed to miss out on the fact that the ending of Iron Man 3 brought the trilogy completely full-circle, along the same lines as what The Dark Knight Rises did with Nolan's Bat-trilogy. No matter what narrative fanboys choose to buy into, a movie that was a critical and financial hit, like Iron Man 3 was, didn't have ANY negative ramifications on the franchise. It's just incredibly silly to believe so, and I suspect that opinion comes from a lot of fanboys being blissfully unaware of how the studio process actually works.

Calling out stupidity doesn't automatically equal being on a high horse.
