Youtube contributor Darth Blender has created a remake of the recently released Justice League trailer that was shown to audiences during the 2017 San Diego Comic Con. The Justice League is an upcoming film to be released by Warner Brothers that brings together for the first time heroes made popular by the DC Comic brand, which includes some of the most popular characters found within the genre. Blender borrows scenes from past iterations of films from the 1980’s and 1990s that mirror the personae of the heroes that are represented in the upcoming Justice League. In additon the footage coordinates and dubs the sounds of the current trailer into the satirical remake.

Darth Blender has made similar youtube videos in the past that re-imagine trailers in humorous ways. Justice League stars featured in the Comic Con trailer include: Gal Gadot (Diana Prince / Wonder Woman); Jason Momoa (Arthur Curry / Aquaman); Ezra Miller (Barry Allen / The Flash); Ben Affleck (Bruce Wayne / Batman); Jeremy Irons (Alfred Pennyworth); Ray Fisher (Victor Stone / Cyborg); and J.K. Simmons (Commissioner Gordon). Borrowing imagery from 80’s TV show Xena, and the Flash, as well as films Waterworld, Robocop and Batman, the youtube video expertly replaces the titular characters with 1980’s actors Lucy Lawless, Kevin Costner, John Shipp, Michael Keaton, Michael Gough, Peter Weller and Pat Hingle respectively. In addition, the Justice League trailer features a computer generated characterization of villain Steppenwolf voiced by Ciarán Hinds, which is humorously replaced by a costumed Tim Curry in his guise as the monster Darkness from the 1985 film Legend. Justice League, directed by Zack Snyder is scheduled for wide theatric release November 17, 2017.
