'JLA' coming to a halt?

A new report suggests that Justice League of America will not begin filming on schedule...if at all.

"Justice League is indeed in danger of not starting production on time and maybe even getting scrapped altogether," a studio source told the IESB's ROBERT SANCHEZ last week.

As anyone knows, who's faithfully followed the movie updates, there have been numerous unofficial delays on commencement of production on George Miller's Justice League of America. But prep on the sets has continued, and, until this new report, there had been nothing which addressed the aforementioned delays.

So, what's the problem? A pile of things, if the IESB source is to be trusted: an oversized budget, a "mediocre" cast, and an unsatisfactory script--which can't be remedied while the WGA strike continues. Additionally, studio execs are sensitive to rumblings that Christopher Nolan's people are miffed at the positive buzz for The Dark Knight being diluted by JLA.

In the meantime, the suits have extended their holds on the "apparently locked" cast, though The IESB's Sanchez wishes they hadn't bothered.
