Mark Millar Says STARLIGHT & CHRONONAUTS Will Be His Next Titles To Hit The Big Screen

Having already seen several of his original comics brought to life on the big screen, prolific writer Mark Millar recently revealed that Starlight and Chrononauts will probably be the next two 'Millarworld' properties to get the green light. The Scottish scribe is famously associated with a number of recent R-rated comic book movie hits, including the Kick-Ass films and this year's incredibly popular Kingsman: The Secret Service. Millar recently sat down with JoBlo to update them about some of his other comic-to-film projects:
"The next two that I think will be moving forward pretty quickly are Starlight and Chrononauts, I think they'll probably be made at the same time as Kingsman 2, if not even before. I think Starlight's screenplay is finished now, it was written by Gary Whitta, he finished the screenplay a couple of weeks back and we're just moving forward now looking for a director."
"Chrononauts, there's one of the actors already and we're just looking for the second guy. Those two I think are the most likely to be the next two out, and then we should have another three ready to roll next year as well."
The 20th Century Fox produced Starlight focuses on 'Duke McQueen' - a former space-hero who returned home, settled down, got married and had kids. Ageing and alone after the passing of his wife, he is called back into space for one final adventure. Meanwhile, Universal recently picked up the rights for Chrononauts, which follows two scientific geniuses as they discover time-travel and wrestle with the choice to use it for personal gain or the benefit of all mankind.
Millar also touched upon the status of Kingsman 2, following the first film's strong performance at the box office this February. The writer revealed that while his frequent collaborator Matthew Vaughn has been "putting some ideas together", the story "isn't really a finished thing yet."
