THE STORY

The movie should open with T’Challa dealing with the consequences of opening up the country to the outside world. A small insugent/cult is formed in Wakanda and led by a charismatic leader and alchemist named Achebe. He and his acolytes, Zenzi and Tetu sow dissent among the Wakandans arguing that T’Challa spends too much of his time away from his home and their charity work takes resources away from their own country. They demand a return to isolationism. Acheba challenges T’Challa to the ritual combat upon T’Challa’s planned return from a trip to the United States. During his time in the US, T’Challa is ambushed, captured, and held against his will by big game hunter and criminal mercenary Kraven the Hunter and a new and recently activated HYDRA “Winter Soldier” known as Jackal. Kraven is hired by Moses Magnum a multi-millionaire weapons developer and dealer who provides weapons for HYDRA. Based on the footage and reconnaissance on Black Panther’s appearance in the US and in Korea, HYDRA creates a prototype combat suit for the Jackal made of the experimental substance Carbonadium. They seek to deconstruct the technology of the Black Panther suit and adapt it to the Jackal.

Meanwhile since T’Challa does not return for the ritual challenge due to his capture, Achebe announces that he should be named King. Shuri (who T’Challa appointed as his surrogate) challenges Achebe in the ritual combat. During their confrontation, it is clear that Shuri is the far superior fighter, however Achebe has secretly drugged Shuri and defeats her. Shuri is saved by Ramonda (who lies) and tells Achebe and all of the tribes gathered that Shuri yielded. Shuri slips into a coma. Acheba takes the throne and relieves Okoye of her duties as general. He installs a non-Wakandan Zibiyah (aka Impala) - to lead the Dora Milaje. Impala is secretly a protege of Kraven. He Also installs Tetu as his personal bodyguard and Zenzi as his chief counselor. Bucky Barnes whisks Shuri and Ramonda away to the nearby village of Imaya in the serengeti. The people there worship a woman as a goddess who upon hearing that she could treat Shuri, Barnes seeks her out. He finds the person he was searching for and leaves Shuri and Ramaonda in the care of the mysterious Ororo Munroe. Ororo consults an alchemist acquaintance of hers, Jericho Drumm and he discovers she has been drugged. Barnes along with Okoye and Nakia go to the US to find out what happened to T’Challa.

T’Challa manages to escape from Kraven, but is without his Black Panther suit. He manages to connect with Barnes, Nakia and Okoye and discovers that Kraven was working with Achebe as part of Hydra’s plan to access the country’s vast technology. They are tracked down by Kraven and Jackal and after an epic fight, T’ Challa, Barnes, Okoye and Nakia are able to retrieve the Black Panther suit and defeat Kraven and Jackal. They then head back to Wakanda where in several epic simultaneous fights - Nakia takes out Zenzi; Okoye defeats Impala; and T’Challa beats both Tetu and Achebe in an improvised ritual challenge after willingly having his powers removed to solidify his claim to his throne. Upon hearing that T’Challa has retruned, Magnus commisions a power suit and vows to eliminate T’ Challa personally.
