What does the introduction of the Multiverse mean for MCU?

Spiderman first teased the multiverse in Far From Home, then delivered it to us in all its glory in what may be the greatest Spiderman film ever made. Doors have now been open that can never be shut.

But what does that mean?

Well firstly, it means that Disney owns almost all its Marvel intellectual property (Hulk is the only one we done know all the fine print too) Disney is no fool and knows that us the fans thrive on nostalgia. We dream of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine going toe to toe with the MCU Hulk. For years this was nothing but pipeline dreams. 71.3 Billion dollars and two movies later and we can now have that dream. (we hope)

Truthfully, all we really know is that the MCU is expanding is ways we dare not dream. We were blessed with all 3 Peters and a glorious mix of villains spanning across the multiple franchises. It is not ending there, from here on out Marvel seems to be dialling up the antics. The rumour mill is rife with all the possibilities.

Now this is where is gets tricky, the current path is filled with opportunity, but also can quickly become convoluted.

While we will have the immediate benefits of seeing our old timers from Fox’s universe and maybe even resurrections of the dearly departed of the MCU, the storyline could become too complex for the average movie goer. We now deep in comic book territory and don’t get me wrong. I absolutely love it.

An example of multiverse exploitation would be Tony Stark. Opening the multiverse means a variant of Ironman could appear. The current rumour has a certain someone taking up the mantle. This I am interested to see, provided it is a one off. The other has RDJ returning. To me this undermines his sacrifice. I think we need a few more movies and then bring him in.

The point I am trying to drive is that if not handled with care the whole multiverse could become nothing more than a trope.
