After years of petitions, angry letters and actual protests outside the museum in Cleveland [Ohio], KISS are entering the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.

KISS formed in 1973, with original members; Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Peter Criss and Ace Frehley, they have been eligible for the last 15 years, but didn't get the nod until now. Gene and Paul (founders) have been the two constant members through the years of ever-changing line-ups, records and tours.

The others joining KISS; Nirvana, Peter Gabriel, Hall and Oates, Cat Stevens and Linda Ronstadt will all join the class of 2014.

The induction ceremony will be held at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on April 10th, 2014. It's the first time the general public will be able to attend the event in New York City (fittingly, KISS formed in New York). Tickets go on sale in January; HBO will air the event in May.

Artists are eligible for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25 years after the release of their first album or single. This January, it will be the 40th anniversary for KISS. They have sold millions of records world-wide and influenced many groups along their illustrious career.

Marvel Comics published a full-color comic book in 1977, titled, A Marvel Comics Super Special!: KISS presenting the band KISS as superheroes.

Each original member of the band had blood drawn and poured into the red ink for the printing of these comics.

Through the years, there have been many different comics (and thousands of other merchandising/marketing items from the band).

Holiday Gift Idea:
The KISS Kompendium is a hardcover collection of KISS comics. It compiles both issues of the Marvel Comics Super Special, the Marvel KISSnation comic, the comic printed especially for 1995 book, KISStory, along with the Psycho Circus and Dark Horse comic series’. The book also features exclusive KISS photos taken backstage at the band's (then current concert tour) in support of their Sonic Boom record. As well as commentary by band members, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. IDW Publishing is the current publisher for the variations of comics from the group.
