Director Scott Derrickson (Dr. Strange, Sinister) took to Twitter yesterday to showcase the unused concept art from his now defunct film Paradise Lost.

Paradise Lost
, based on the 17th century tome written by John Milton, depicts the fall of man, and, according to Derrickson in a 2008 interview with MTV:

"You won't help but have sympathy for its bad guy: the devil"

According to the concept art and the accompanying tweet, it appears he planned to showcase the fall of Lucifer as well, showing him in the four different stages throughout the film.

What do you guys think?  Do you wish this movie had gotten made?

Sound off below!

Angel Lucifer

Rebel Lucifer

Fallen Lucifer

Satan

Never too sure about the style when filmmakers try to give a sci-fi feel to classic older texts, but with Derrickson at the helm I'm sure it could've definitely been a unique and riveting film! Such a shame it got axed

Not sure about the last one, but holy shit those first three are pretty damn awesome.

Also, it's sort of amazing that Paradise Lost hasn't gotten a major film adaptation (to my knowledge at least). The religious themes may not sit perfectly with modern audiences, but the imagery and drama of it as a piece of fiction is really pretty great.

Scratch that, I love the last one, too. Just needed a minute to visualize the transition.

Sure, I'd like to see it, but not with Derrickson at the helm.

Fallen Lucifer looks more scary than satan. I'd just have continued the horns coming out of his head in that direction compared to how it ended up in the satan version. I also like how in the fallen version it looks like he is starting to grow fangs, instead of him finally growing tusks.

I could be mistaken but l thought Alex Proyas was making this movie and not Scott Derrickson. Because if it really was Alex after the Gods of Egypt movie it was a smart movie this never came out. Now the real question is had this movie come out, would gods of Egypt still have come out?

Concept art looks cool but I don't know if it would have translated well on screen. They would have had to explain why he was changing forms throughout the movie, not just have him transforming the entire time.

We need this movie now. There's so much potential creativity and drama to be put into a fantastical biblical epic like Paradise Lost.
