Avatar Sequel a Possibility

Avatar Sequel a Possibility

But before Avatar gets a second look, Battle Angel Alita may hit the silver screen.

Producer Jon Landau, who also worked with Cameron on "Titanic," told French magazine Le Film that the world of Avatar is big enough that it should be explored further in subsequent films. He says Avatar only deals with the surface of the planet Pandora, and that a sequel could venture deeper into the interior.

Cameron has been building the Pandora universe for the better part of ten years so it’s no surprise that the notion of exploring it further is being tossed around. A sequel would depend on the success of the first film, but with all the hype surrounding new technology combined with Cameron’s veil of secrecy, interest is already too high for a flop.

Sequel’s however, can wait. MTV Movies Blog reports that Cameron’s next project may be Yukito Kishiro's Battle Angel Alita. The story of Alita, a cyborg suffering from amnesia, who uses martial arts to discover her past, has sparked the Titanic director’s interest. Landau has also stated that Cameron is looking at BAA as his next film.

Manga fans rejoice.

12 years since his last movie, and he presents us with this crap. He's definitely getting senile. Who would actually pay to see a sequel?

This is stupid. wait till the figgen movie comes out before you start planning a sequel. remember Van Helsing? The movie could still bomb despite the hype and as I recall everyone was pretty unimpressed by the trailer so maybe those a-ss holes in Hollywood should just wait and see

I dunno about this movie, but I think they're getting a little ahead of themselves on the sequel. Not real hyped for it, but I'm a bit interested to see more of the technology in action. I mean I admire Cameron as an innovator, and he usually doesn't dissapoint, but not everything's like wine and gets better with age. And after his comment on wanting to "screw the Na'vi", well I'm just a little alarmed lol.

I personaly loved every freakin' film that Cameron copied off of to make Avatar yet... why does his film still look "meh"?

I'm looking forward to his copy of Battle Angel Alita though! That one he's aloud if he calls it Battle Angel Alita ;P

SEQUEL?!?!?! Unless Cameron plans to pay for it out of pocket or has already signed a contract for a sequel, there won't be sequel talk until it is released and see what it brings in money wise. If they release it and it does what Watchmen did, they won't make a sequel...
