Cameras have been rolling on Dune: Part 2 in Abu Dhabi since July, and star Timothée Chalamet (via SFFGazette.com) has now announced that production has officially wrapped.

The Bones and All actor shared an Instagram selfie from the desert alongside his father, who was visiting him on the set.

Part 1 concluded with Paul Atreides and his mother, the Lady Jessica, being accepted by the Fremen and taken to their "Sietch." Paul was forced to take Jamis' life in order to prove his worth, and it's a decision that will ultimately inform his destiny.

If you've read Frank Herbert's novels, you'll know that the young "Muad'Dib" is not taken on a typical hero's journey!

Dune: Part 2's new cast additions include Austin Butler as Feyd Rautha, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, the legendary Christopher Walken as The Emperor, and Lea Seydoux as Lady Margot Fenring. Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Stellan Skarsgård, Josh Brolin, and Dave Bautista will reprise their roles from the first film.

The synopsis reads: “Part Two will focus on Paul assembling a massive army of Fremen to combat the ruthless Harkonnen, as he essentially becomes a mythical messiah figure to the inhabitants of Arrakis.”

Dune: Part Two was recently pushed back from October 20, 2023 to November 17, 2023.

Hopefully, Dune: Part 2 will mark the return of Flute Guy to help Hans Zimmer score the movie.

I decided to wait to watch all of the new Dune films once they are all out.

@TheVandalore - Yes, I'm holding off on all of them until they are all out. I did this with the Lord of the Rings films and the Back to the Future films.

@LSHF - i call BS on you waiting for all the back to the future movies.
When the first one was made there was no plan for a sequel. And it was another fee years before they made the other 2.

@LSHF - honestly I only do it for franchises I think could waste my time. DUNE looked really really promising, but just the very nature of this specific franchises story was such a risky one to take on I figured there's a larger chance this one could be a big ol waste of time. Lol I'm glad it sounds like most people enjoy it so far.

@philinterrupted - I had no interest in them until someone recommended the first two and at that time they were filming the third one. This isn't difficult to believe.

@LSHF - Anyway, so I just waited until all three were available on VHS to rent. Again, not hard to believe.

@TheVandalore - It doesn't sound very interesting to me, which makes it more unlikely I'm going to enjoy waiting for next part. So, waiting is easier now.

@LSHF - bullshit. Plus, They filmed 2 and 3 back to back. By the time 2 was out, 3 was already made.

@philinterrupted - I incorrectly remembered a detail. So, sue me. Anyway, I'm wasting my time.

How is it that they film some of these movies so fast and rush production but Matt Reeves’s The Batman 2 and other movies take years to go back into production. Like comic movies always get shit on when it comes to sequels.

First movie was my favorite film of the year. So glad it made enough to finish the book. Hope this one kills it so Vellinuve gets to finish off his trilogy.
