Filming on HBO Max's upcoming Dune prequel series, The Sisterhood, is now officially underway.

Director Johan Renck took to Instagram to make the announcement:

"On this day, we commence filming Dune: The Sisterhood for HBO Max," he captioned his post. "Through machinations taking place millennia before the story you all know, we descend into the coven that one day shall be named the Bene Gesserit. Say it with me: “I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.”

Renck also tagged actor Mark Strong (Kick-Ass, Green Lantern Shazam!) in his post along with the rest of the confirmed cast members. We have no idea who he'll play, but we'll hopefully learn more about his role soon.

Strong's casting has yet to be officially announced, but the trades are sure to weigh in with confirmation at some point.

He joins Emily Watson, Shirley Henderson and Indira Varma as the show's leads, and more recent additions Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Faoileann Cunningham, Aoife Hinds and Chloe Lea in key supporting roles. Vikings alum Travis Fimmel will play the villain.

The Sisterhood is set 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, and follows the Harkonnen Sisters, played by Watson and Henderson, as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit.

Diane Ademu-John is on board as creator, writer, co-showrunner and executive producer, with Alison Schapker serving as co-showrunner and EP. Renck will direct the premiere episode and executive produce, while Dune Parts 1 and 2 director Denis Villeneuve is also executive producing.

No premiere date has been announced.
