"We cannot give up and go home for one simple reason: We already are home. This is our only home."

Apple TV+ has released the first trailer for its upcoming climate change-focused sci-fi series, Extrapolations, which might just feature the most impressive cast in TV history.

The eight-part drama series comes from Contagion writer Scott Z. Burns, and will play out over a 33-year time span as the story focuses on the devastating destruction to our planet caused by global warming.

Meryl Streep, Sienna Miller, Kit Harington, Daveed Diggs, Edward Norton, Diane Lane, Yara Shahidi, Matthew Rhys, Gemma Chan, David Schwimmer, Keri Russell, Adarsh Gourav, Indira Varma, Marion Cotillard, Forest Whitaker, Tobey Maguire and more are all set to star.

Check out the trailer below along with a synopsis, and let us know what you think.

"Extrapolations is a bracing limited series that introduces a near future where the chaotic effects of climate change have become embedded into our everyday lives. Eight interwoven stories about love, work, faith and family from across the globe will explore the intimate, life-altering choices that must be made when the planet is changing faster than the population. Every story is different, but the fight for our future is universal. Are we brave enough to become the solution to our own undoing before it’s too late?"

The first three episodes of Extrapolations hit Apple TV+ on March 17, with new episodes premiering every Friday.

I miss the days when they used to call it global warming. Oh well gotta create a new buzz term to get attention.

@Mercwitham0uth - They changed it to “Climate. change” when they realized that the world was actually getting cooler. They could have easily said, “See, Our efforts worked and we stopped the globe from warming,” but instead they renamed it to continue to perpetuate the fear.
Why?
Because people make billions off of “green energy” and the “climate change” hoax. The ones who are the most vocal love in palatial mansions and fly private jets that give off massive carbon footprints.
They don’t change their lifestyles, they just expect the gullible peons to change theirs, and they make bank off of them.
The same gullible sheep who actually believed that Covid was this super deadly virus and wore masks and ruined their lives because of it.
That was not a sustainable hoax so they had to let it go especially as proof started coming out about how dangerous all of masking and lockdowns were,
It was all about control and power as is “Climate Change”.
But they just keep moving the destruction of the planet forward another 20 years every decade or so to keep the fraud a generational thing.

@TyrantBossMedia - The earth is not getting cooler. In fact, temperature is still on an upward trend.

@Benjamitesandwich - That’s what they tell you. Keep believing them. You are making them very wealthy.

@TyrantBossMedia - I’m literally in the sciences. What I stated is supported in countless research articles. If you can provide legitimacy sources for your claims, then that would be appreciated. Otherwise, everything you spout is nonsense. Truth be told, climate scientists aren’t as wealthy as you suggest. Most scientists I know are struggling to keep their head above water, even if they study climate.

@Benjamitesandwich - These climate scientists do know that, in order to receive funding, they have to tow the line. Plenty of people don’t follow the narrative, but they are often shunned and never counted in that totally BS and made up “97% of scientists” stat.

@Mercwitham0uth I do too, but the term “Climate Change” began to be used by some scientists back in the 2000’s as their institutions were pressuring them to. Some because they felt it more accurately conveyed that there were more effects than just the warming component, other due to political pressure. E.g. George Bush used the term exclusively from 2002, as one Republican advisor petitioned:

“Climate change is less frightening than global warming. While Global Warming has catastrophic connotations attached to it, climate change suggests a more controllable and less emotional challenge.”.

Even before that though, in the late 80’s & 90’s there was huge international political bullying against the UN to change the official term by big polluting countries in order to reduce the public outcry for something to be done.

Truly a momentously disgraceful moment in human history, and one for which all involved should burn in hell. Unfortunately it’s more likely everyone else will on Earth after those shit stains are already dead.

God, this looks like a virtue signaling pretentious Hollywood snob actors guild production to preach about global warming rather than a cool movie.

I mean global warming is bad and we should do something about it. But this just looks like a pretentious documentary packaged as a cool sci-fi movie.

mountainman

@TyrantBossMedia - Oh I’d argue it’s far more nefarious than just getting rich off of it. There is a big desire to use climate change to restrict freedoms as well.

ESG scores are here to force companies to comply, so they do. If countries can institute social credit scores via CBDCs, which many are trying, they can restrict your life in any way for any reason.
TyrantBossMedia
TyrantBossMedia - 2/16/2023, 10:20 AM
@mountainman - Oh I agree. That is the long term goal. The immediate goal is to get wealthy. The long term is to control the public through environmental regulations and restrictions.

Now they are talking about not allowing gas stoves. The only other option is electric.
But electric mainly comes from coal fired plants, but they say coal is the enemy.
And experts will say that solar and wind will not generate enough power.

Not to mention that the installation of solar panel farms and turbine farms do horrible damage to that very environment they claim to want to protect.

Meanwhile if the ice caps are melting and the coasts will be flooded....then why would someone like Obama buy a $15 million estate on the coast of Martha's Vineyard? It's just going to be washed away anyway.

It's all a scam and these fools are too stupid to realize it.
mountainman
mountainman - 2/16/2023, 10:54 AM
@TyrantBossMedia - Oh I hear you in the money making part and do not dispute it. Take their goal of abolishing meat. Not only is meat the most nutrient dense food on Earth and helps people to build muscle and be strong, it can’t be patented. But you know what can? Soy or vegetable based mixes of fake meat and protein. Big money.
TyrantBossMedia
TyrantBossMedia - 2/16/2023, 11:11 AM
@mountainman - Why do you think so many egg production companies have suddenly burned down. Eggs are very expensive now. Why? Control.

And have you heard the reports from farmers that the Purina chicken feed has stopped their chickens from producing eggs?
mountainman
mountainman - 2/16/2023, 11:20 AM
@TyrantBossMedia - Eggs, the second most nutrient rich food on Earth after meat. Interesting right?

Apparently the egg thing is independent of the overall inflation we see. There was really bad avian flu last year resulting in something like 50 million chickens dead.

But then we look at how did this happen right now? After all those food processing plants had issues in recent years? Now we see all these train derailments. It sure seems like something is happening to our basic infrastructure. It looks like attacks from either outside or inside causing these things.

bkmeijer1 - 2/16/2023, 7:20 AM
It looks cool and it has a great cast, but the premise doesn't sound that interesting tbh.

It kinda just comes across as pretentious though. Why not take this budget and invest it in climate change solutions instead of preaching about it?

30 years ago climate scientists told us we had 10 years left. 20 years ago they told us we have 10 years left. 10 years ago they told us we have 10 years left. Just last year they told us we have 10 years left.
