GODZILLA VS. KONG's Rotten Tomatoes Score Revealed As IMDb Removes Reviews From #RestoreTheSnyderVerse Trolls

We recently told you about a small number of #RestoreTheSnyderVerse supporters who were trolling Godzilla vs. Kong, but IMDb has now removed those reviews as the movie's Rotten Tomatoes score is revealed.

Just like there were some toxic #ReleaseTheSnyderCut fans, it seems the same can now be said of #RestoreTheSnyderVerse supporters.

Not everyone hoping to see Zack Snyder's Justice League vision continue can (or should) be painted with the same brush, of course, but some did recently attempt to review bomb Godzilla vs. Kong in a bid to grab Warner Bros.' attention.

As Screen Rant notes, of the 44 1* reviews which were uploaded to IMDb, 33 have now been removed because they were posted with that very popular hashtag. Nine remain, though those do appear to be from people who have watched the movie and simply did not enjoy it.

While IMDb scores don't really mean much, Rotten Tomatoes' percentages do. Well, there's good news for the crossover on that front because with 122 reviews counted, it now sits at 80%.

Despite a couple of very negative scores from big outlets when the embargo initially lifted, a much larger number of sites have now weighed in, and most really enjoyed it. Yes, it seems the story and characters don't always hit the mark, but the battle between the title behemoths doesn't disappoint, which is arguably the most important thing.

"Delivering squarely on its title," reads the Critics Consensus, "Godzilla vs. Kong swats away character development and human drama to deliver all the spectacle you'd expect from giant monsters slugging it out."

With a positive response from critics and some great numbers from the international box office, perhaps a rematch will take place in a Godzilla vs. Kong sequel? We'll keep you guys updated.

"IMDb scores don't really mean much, but the one on Rotten Tomatoes does."

I don't know why that made me laugh.

Honestly review bombing for any reason is toxic and I think it’s time to start adding extra layers to prevent any Jack and Jill from adding troll reviews.

@PantherKing - how though? I fully agree that there should be a better process but how would you enforce it?

I'm seeing this movie tomorrow. I can't wait!

As for the #RestoretheSnyderVerse crowd, I hope they just let it go after a while. The Snyder Cut made sense because Zack was brought back to finish the movie he was hired to direct in the first place. Zack sounds like he wants to move on and WB wants to move on. The rabid fanbase should to.

It’s high time they find a way to legitimately stop review bombing somehow.

Curious, does RT have a verification method for titles that are streaming-only?

Free trial, pay for 1 month, watch Zack Snyder’s Justice League 3 or 4 more times, Godzilla vs Kong, Mortal Kombat, and cancel 👍🏼

@Godzillakartt - Well, there are lots of very cool scenes that would be good to see a second time, AND we don't really have to watch the entire four hours. We can skip to all of our favorite parts. That's what I do after I see the film once, when I watch the Blu-rays or I stream.

Movies are like albums. They have scenes/songs I like, and some I don't, so I skip the ones I don't.
