Editorial: Gwen Stacy Returning In 'THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN' Franchise

Many of you know what happened to Gwen Stacy at the end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) Well now the writers have got very big shoes to fill; what possibly what could be more greater than the wonderful relationship between Peter and Gwen which was one of the biggest highlights from both two films has gone now so what happens next?
 

Within the fictional universe, Gwen Stacy's death has enormous repercussions. From day one we all knew that Gwen Stacy will die and be replaced by Mary Jane Watson in the Webb franchise. Well now Captain Stacy and Gwen Stacy have both died so you must be thinking that we will see Mary Jane in the next instalment; well you’re wrong. Due to the successful response from Peter and Gwen's relationship I believe that the writers will bring back Gwen Stacy. Wait what? Yes, there are many storylines in comics were we have seen Gwen Stacy return after her death; it's comics after all.

 
Miles Warren and the Gwen Clone
Miles Warren was secretly in love with Gwen. Following her death, Warren grows increasingly insane and adopts the persona of the Jackal who had managed to create a clone of Gwen.
 
What If?
There was a storyline where Peter saves Gwen from the bridge and they both get married. Green Goblin sends information to J Jonah Jameson that Peter is Spider-Man which causes Jameson crash Peter's wedding.
 
Ok those two were the storylines that brought back Gwen Stacy however I don't think both wouldn't work in the current state and events of the franchise. The scene with Gwen saved by Peter could be a very small vision but it could be cheesy and childish. I would like you to take note of the one particular storyline.
 


The Chameleon's most ambitious hate against Spider-Man happened when he formed an alliance with Harry Osborn; Harry told Chameleon Spider-Man's secret identity could be found through Peter Parker, so he constructed androids of Peter Parker's parents. The plan led to a psychotic breakdown for Spider-Man. After tricking Spider-Man to the bridge where his first love Gwen Stacy died, Chameleon threw himself off the bridge. He reappeared some time later in a mental institution, completely incapacitated.
 
I believed from the start this story should be included in the franchise. Now that Gwen is dead. It makes more sense for it to be Gwen Stacy instead of Peter's parents. Because it would really hit Peter hard if his future villains bring up Gwen's death causing Peter to have a huge breakdown when he is fighting the villains.
 
Chameleon and Mysterio are very similar villains; disguises and illusions. Only one would be in the franchise, we know that Mysterio is a considered candidate for the Sinister Six by Marc Webb so I would say Mysterio is a fair bet that he would replace Chameleon in this scenario so it would probably go something like this:

The plan led to a psychotic breakdown for Spider-Man. After tricking Spider-Man to the bridge where his first love Gwen Stacy died, Mysterio creates an illusion of himself throwing himself off the clock tower’s inner workings which will remind Peter of Gwen’s death. In the next film Peter is drawn in a closer friendship, and eventually to romance with Mary Jane.
 

Wrapping up this video I would like to point out that some people would be pleased to see Emma Stone return but some people have said it would ruin the Gwen Stacy death by bringing her back. I would personally be happy if the return her for one movie as it could really make Peter suffer from the examples I have pointed out. Some people are considering Emma Stone to play Mary Jane Watson however I could tell you that that is never going to happen and would never work. By having the same actors as two similar characters would create no emotions to the general audience as they would just see her as Gwen Stacy; it would be bland and boring. Hopefully Sony will choose a good actor to play Mary Jane Watson that could be at the same level as Emma Stone. Emma is signed on for up to three picture deal with Sony so she still has one movie left if the writers or Sony decide to use her once more.
