SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME's Jacob Batalon Reacts To Staying In The MCU & Shares His Sequel Wishes - EXCLUSIVE

Immediately following the big Spidey news on Friday, we were granted an exclusive opportunity to sit down with the Spider-Man: Far From Home star to get his instant reaction and talk about the sequel.

Just moments after Friday's earth-shattering news that Sony Pictures and Walt Disney Studios had reached a new agreement that would allow Kevin Feige to produce at least one more Spider-Man film, we were able to sit down with Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds) to get his instant reaction about all that's transpired over the past month.

We also chatted a littlle about the now-official Spider-Man 3, and while he understandably wasn't able to say much, he did offer up his thoughts on who he'd maybe like to see as the film's villain - or villains - and the possibility of eventually crossing over with Tom Hardy's Venom

ROHAN: I’ve been off the Internet all morning, so I don’t know if there’s any big news out or anything.

JACOB: Oh, yeah, same. I have no idea what’s going on either. *laughs*

ROHAN: So, how are you feeling now after all this?

JACOB: It's been good, man, it’s been good. I feel like we were really prepared to just move on with Sony and now, we're just happy to be working with Marvel again. Honestly just happy to be making another movie.

ROHAN: Yeah, I think it’s safe to say that everyone’s really excited again. So, I’ve been on this side of the news, but when you’re actually in the movie, what’s that experience like for you when all these big corporate things are happening and you know some stuff and you don’t know some things, but can’t really comment on anything.

What has this whole last month been like for you following the divorce and now, the reconciliation?

JACOB: I think, really, we have no say on that side of it. We don't really have that sort of investment, like the producers do, and really, it's just business. I feel like we were just continuing on with what we had to do. We were all pretty surprised by the split, but we were all still ready to go with wherever the franchise went next - and then this happened today, so it's amazing.

ROHAN: Had you heard anything about Spider-Man 3 before today, or what this announcement your first confirmation that it was happening?

JACOB: I feel like we were always raring to go, no matter what happened, but I don’t think we had any sort of idea what was to come.

ROHAN: I know it's still pretty far away, but have you thought about any possible villains? I know Kraven’s name has been floating around and I know people want to see the Sinister Six.

JACOB: Yeah, I mean, I feel like there’s been no talks of that, at least on my side, for the last couple of months. With all the success of Far From Home and the sequel just becoming official, I feel like we just haven’t had enough time to do that right now.

ROHAN: Who would you like to see as the villain?

JACOB: The Sinister Six is really awesome. If they are really moving toward putting all those stones together in the next film, just building up to that storyline, that would be pretty amazing.

ROHAN: With the new deal today, it feels like Spidey’s about to simultaneously be in two separate universes - the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the live-action Spider-Verse Sony’s been building with Venom, Morbius and etc.

Have you put any thought into possibly crossing over with Tom Hardy’s Venom or Woody Harrelson’s Carnage down the line?

JACOB: I feel like all these questions are things I don’t know. *laughs*

ROHAN: I’m sorry about that.

JACOB: No, no, it’s fine. It’s definitely an interesting prospect, but again, I have no idea. *laughs*

Introduce the Osbornes, graduate Peter from high school. Don’t make Tony Stark central to new Spider-Man, have him grow into his own like the ending of Homecoming tried to do. Give more Aunt May more pathos.

@bropous - if nolan and bale were working on a fourth batman movie and michael caine had an interview like this, id still call it a terrible interview.

I’d take that mediocre steel book for FFH over the crappy one we got for Endgame, any day.

I'd personally love to see Kraven the Hunter for the next villain and hope Marvel and Sony strike bargains to keep building to a Spider-Man Sinister Six film eventually.

If that doesn't happen though, close off with Kraven in the MCU and do a live action Spider-Verse movie at Sony with Toby McGuire, Holland, Garfield, Emma Stone's Spider-Gwen, and Venom. That could be really fun.
