First Official SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Still Released Ahead Of Tonight's Trailer; Plus New Vulture Details

Following yesterday's exciting trailer-tease, we have this official Spider-Man: Homecoming image courtesy of USA Today.

The pic - which is a precursor to tonight's highly anticipated trailer - gives us a new look at Tom Holland as Spidey, as he holds his iconic mask in his hand.

The article also confirms that Homecoming will be skipping the origin story altogether, and focusing on Peter Parker attempting to adjust to his life back in Queens following his little stint with a superhero team in Captain America: Civil War.

A big part of that will involve having to deal with a new supervillain known as The Vulture (Michael Keaton), who is described as "an average Joe with criminal tendencies and a wicked wing suit." Holland and director Jon Watts elaborate:

“The first time we see the Vulture is terrifying,” Holland teases. “It’s like a horror movie: really scary, very intense and shocking.” The Spidey foe is different than other Marvel baddies such as Thanos and Ultron, Watts says. “It’s fun to think that if Spider-Man is a regular kid who becomes a superhero, there’s got to be a bunch of regular guys who become supervillains, too.”

Hopefully we get our first live-action glimpse of The Vulture in tonight's trailer. Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7, 2017.

Oh, look at that. A practical suit!

NO. WAY.

@MattBellissimo - Although the CGI in Civil War was hit or miss at times it's ridiculous for people to think that these suits can look nearly as good in action without the help of CGI.

@EnnisFan - AND it was only hit and miss because of the last-minute nature of including him. It never once took me out of the movie though. The CGI on the blu ray was a marked improvement.

This Spidey WILL need CGI at all times, at the very least for his eyes, which can't really be done without it. However, Black Panther was all-CGI in Civil War and no one batted an eye....because they had more time to do it right. This movie's Spider-Man will be no different.

@MattBellissimo - I wasn't a fan of black panthers cgi either tbh

@MattBellissimo - I feel like the red ends a little too high at his waist (looks like he's wearing blue pants pulled up to his ribs), but other than that, this looks great.

@BioTrek - Just certain scenes.

@MattBellissimo - I think the other thing that made it hard for SPidey's CGI to look convincing (other than the last-minute addition of him, as you correctly point out) is the colouring and texture of the costume. It's much harder to render convincingly in broad daylight scenes than, say, Black Panther's richly textured black costume.

@EnnisFan - it was an even more difficult job considering they completely changed the design of the suit they had on set
