MADAME WEB Leak Reveals Dakota Johnson In Her Comic-Accurate Costume

Dakota Johnson does (briefly) don a more comic-accurate version of her Madame Web costume in the movie, and we have a first look thanks to a leaked screenshot right here...

The first (and only) full trailer for Madame Web didn't exactly fill us with confidence, but we're not sure anyone was expecting the movie to be on the receiving end of such a critical drubbing, and wind up with an even lower Rotten Tomatoes score than Morbius.

Sony Pictures' latest SSU movie was already being mocked online thanks to that now infamous "he was in the Amazon with my mother" line from the trailer, but the ridicule has only intensified since its theatrical release earlier this week.

Now that the leaks have begun, we may as well start referring to this movie as Madame Meme.

Spoilers follow.

As you'll likely have heard by now, the superhero costumes we see Cassandra Webb and the Spider-Women don in the trailers, posters and promo images only get a few minutes of screen-time, and are actually confined to some "flash-forward" sequences of the ladies taking up their respective crime-fighting mantles.

Right at the end of the movie after Cassie is blinded and paralyzed while battling the villainous Ezekiel (who is ultimately taken out with a giant Pepsi sign), we get a quick glimpse of all four women suited-up together, and Web is sporting a version of her getup from the comics.

Click here to check it out.

The costumes do look pretty good, to be fair, but the chances of seeing them again seem pretty slim - unless Madame Web proves to be a much bigger box office success than expected.

We don't know where another flop would leave "Sony's Spider-Man Universe," but the studio also has a third Venom movie slated for Nov. 8, 2024, and Kraven the Hunter, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, coming on Aug. 30, 2024. El Muerto, which was set to star Bad Bunny, has reportedly been dropped from the schedule.

"'Meanwhile, in another universe...'" reads the official synopsis, "In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing's most enigmatic heroines." "The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures...if they can all survive a deadly present."

S.J. Clarkson, who also helmed Marvel’s Jessica Jones and The Defenders, directs from a script by Matt Sazama, Kerem Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Adam Merims executive produced.

I think we are all shocked that a Sony produced Madame Web movie is a disaster.

How did it leak? Oh, that's right from international theatrical distribution. Yeah, somebody's got to stop that leak from dripping immediately. Stop all showings of Madame Web before anything else gets out.

Wait...if the villian sees the future where he is killed by the three young women and that does not happen...doesn't that mean he cant see the future and this film is pointless.

I'll at least commend the filmmakers for having Madame Web be paralyzed and blinded by the end of the movie like in the comics, unlike the Snake Eyes reboot where he's still talking and not disfigured at the end.
