MADAME WEB Star Sydney Sweeney Says She Can't Wait For The World To See "Powerhouse Of Badass Females"

Though she still won't reveal much (well, anything) about her character, Sydney Sweeney has spoken about her experience filming Sony Pictures' Madame Web movie during a new interview...

There's still a lot of secrecy surrounding Sony Pictures' Madame Web movie, and even though some set photos and supposed plot leaks have done the rounds, no official announcement has been made about the Marvel Comics characters that'll be introduced in the upcoming Spider-Man spin-off.

We do know that Dakota Johnson is playing a version of the title character, and co-star Sydney Sweeney is believed to have been cast as Julia Carpenter, who may (or may not) ultimately suit-up as Spider-Woman down the line.

While speaking to Total Film, Sweeney remained tight-lipped about her character, but did share her enthusiasm for fans to finally get to see the movie for themselves.

"I couldn't be more excited. I can't wait to be able to talk about it. I can't wait to be able to be next to the girls that I filmed with – Dakota and Isabela, and Celeste. We had so much fun together. And I'm really excited that it's just gonna be a powerhouse of badass females for the world to see."

The Euphoria star also revealed that she jumped at the chance to join the project because she's been a superhero fan for most of her life.

"Superheroes have been my entire life!" she added. "Those [films] are all my parents ever wanted to go see. I think I've seen The Avengers probably 20, 30-plus times. My family, they love [them]... I could not have made them happier choosing to do that project [Madame Web]."

In the comics, Carpenter became the second Madame Web after the original, Cassandra Webb, was killed by Sarah and Ana Kravinoff. Again, she did also take up the mantle of Spider-Woman, but Sweeney is not expected to play the lead in Olivia Wilde's solo Spider-Woman movie, which is still believed to be in development.

Madame Web also stars Isabela Merced, Celeste O'Connor, Adam Scott, Emma Roberts and Tahar Rahim. S.J. Clarkson (The Defenders) directed from a screenplay by Morbius scribes Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.

Get ready for the next Morbius - in quality and box office performance. Maybe this will be the one that finally gets Sony to stop making obscure Spider-man spin offs.

Damn...I want to climb those two mountains 😛

...outside my house. I live in a valley surrounded by mountains. I wasn't commenting on her boobs. That would be sexist. I appreciate her as an actress and look forward to this movie

granted i never thought this would be good, and it won't, but what sealed it was "screeplay by Morbius...." that movie was sooooo goddamn bad it hurt to watch.

Too bad, there is alot of acting talent in this movie, most are easy on the eyes but they can't carry this film to being good

Is that Olivia Wilde Spider-woman movie still happening? IIRC she got that gig while she was shooting Don’t Worry Darling, but the only things anyone remembers about that movie were A) Olivia cast Harry Styles in the movie so they could hook up. B) Florence Pugh was unhappy with Olivia as a director and largely disowned the film. B) She got served divorce papers by Ted Lasso while she was presenting the film at Cinemacon.

I figured after all that BTS drama, Sony had already removed her from the project.

Watching her eat that cheeseburger in the Menu accomplished what those Paris Hilton Carl's Jr. commercials failed to do 10 years ago.

...wait, was it 15 years ago? Enjoy your youth kids. ☹️

Shameful comment. There is more to a woman than her juicey mountainous melon sized mammaries with beautiful pepperoni like areolas that you just want to put in your mouth--oh my God. 🤤

Anyways, do better bro.
