MARVEL'S SPIDER-MAN Animated Series Ordered For Third Season, Titled MAXIMUM VENOM, On Disney XD

Disney XD's Emmy Award-nominated animated series Marvel's Spider-Man will return for a third season in Spring 2020 and will focus on Peter Parker's epic conflict with Venom, one of his most iconic foes.

While season two of Marvel's Spider-Man is still ongoing — and on track to return this September — Disney XD has gone ahead and already ordered a third season of the Emmy Award-nominated animated series.

Season three is slated to premiere in Spring 2020 and will continue to follow Peter Parker as he navigates life as the teenage superhero web-slinger. In season three, which is titled Marvel's Spider-Man: Maximum Venom, Parker will be pushed to his breaking point "when Venom summons an earth-shattering threat from its home planet."

"This is the most epic conflict in the history of Marvel Animation," said Cort Lane, senior vice president of Marvel Animation & Family Entertainment. "We planted the seeds in two seasons of 'Marvel's Spider-Man' and three seasons of 'Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy,' but you don't need to have watched them to be blown away by this colossal confrontation. While a ton of guest heroes will be on hand, Peter Parker's special link to Venom makes him the only hero who can tip the scales to save humanity."

Marvel's Spider-Man will return for the second part of its sophomore season in September. It will premiere with a five-part story arc titled "Super Spider-Man." The synopsis reads: "In the new storyline, Doctor Octopus, who has taken over Spider-Man's body, intends to use his new spider powers to further his evil agenda."

Marvel's Spider-Man
has been a smash hit for Disney XD, ranking as the network's #1 series on cable in the MOnday 6:30 p.m. half-hour timeslot among Kids 6-11 and Boys 6-11.

The series stars Robbie Daymond (Bread Winners) as Spider-Man/Peter Parker, Scott Menville (Teen Titan) as Doctor Octopus, Nadji Jeter (Disney Channel's Jessie) as Miles Morales, Melanie Minichino (Blaze and the Monster Machine) as Anya Corazon, Laura Bailey (Marvel's Avengers Assemble) as Gwen Stacy, Max Mittelman (Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir) as Harry Osborn, Fred Tatasciore (Marvel's Avengers Assemble) as Max Modell, Nancy Linari (The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest) as Aunt May, Patton Oswalt (A.P. Bio) as Uncle Ben, Alastair Duncan (The Batman) as Vulture and Bob Joles (Disney Channel's Big City Greens) as J. Jonah Jameson.

Is this different from Ultimate Spider-Man? Because it looks an awful lot like Ultimate Spider-Man.

Why is Disney keep producing Trash?
Everyone, even the Hardcore Marvel Fans know that Marvel Animation is trash. So why waste money making trash?

@SpiderKOR - because kids enjoy it, and it’s on a kids channel, and it’s meant for kids.

@Vigor -
I highly doubt it - Disney would not want to demonstrate the idea that the characters can be well written or appealing in any form other than the MCU.

@Vigor - never underestimate how stupid the people running Marvels animation division can be.

Emmy-nominated? Did my eyes [frick] with me or did I really just read that?
Well, not that surprising, considering that Squirrel Girl won a [frick]ing Eisner Award.

RIP quality standards.
