Stan's cameo in the next Spider-man movie... as Uncle Ben?

It may sound crazy, but it just might be crazy enough to work!

Source: Official Petition for Stan Lee as Uncle Ben
As I mention in the above petition, since this will be the third reboot of Spider-man in less than 14 years, it's pretty clear that the origin does not need to be repeated. And since the origin hinges around Uncle Ben's death, his role in the movie will be nothing more than a flashback or a small cameo. So there's no need to cast a big name actor in that role, because you have the king of cameos already set to appear in the film!

It may sound ridiculous, but picture this: the entire movie Peter and Aunt May speak fondly of Ben and the impact he had on their day to day lives, and how Peter would not be the man he were today if not for him. It's clear his spirit still lives on and guides everything Peter does, but we never actually get to see him. But at the end of the film, the last line is Peter saying, "It's just like my Uncle always taught me; with great power comes great responsibility". The camera zooms in on a family picture of Peter, Aunt May, and smiling Stan as Uncle Ben! Cut scene, cue the credits.

Pretty cool, right?

Since Stan Lee is Spider-man's father and Spider-man is now back at home in the Marvel universe, it'd be the most meaningful cameo he has had yet and would touch millions of fans across the globe.

So sign the petition and see if Marvel Studios will get on board with this ide

What if it's an even more meaningful cameo? the movie does what you said about talking a lot about Ben without showing him, then in the hardes times (perhaps the final battle, Peter is in the ground almost defeated) he appears as an allucination or dream, telling him something important or perhaps just repeating you know which line. That way, Peter stands up once again and keeps fighting.

I would prefer Stan be The Beyonder or The Grandmaster, he can be what brings the MCU into battle with the FXCU (Fox X-Men Cinematic Universe).

You know how in Guardians he was supposed to be in Collector's collection? They CG'd over the double and made him this massive monster, but the reflection is still the old guy.

Lord no...please no... If I have to suffer through ANOTHER Spider-Man origin scene, don't let it be Stan. His voice just irks me to no end. I love the guy...but no.

I don't think it'd work. Making Stan such an iconic character after having that many cameos in the same fictional universe seems like too much of a stretch - why was Uncle Ben trying to move Thor's hammer with a truck? Or at two separate parties attended by Tony Stark? What was he doing in WWII and on Xandar? Why was he working security at a museum, and living in a retirement home, and judging a beauty pageant? Get where I'm coming from? You leave his character unnamed, and you accept it as just Stan Lee popping up all over the place - you can just about retain your suspension of disbelief. But if you name him, and make him one of the most important characters in the Spider-Man mythos, then you can't have him pop up everywhere anymore.

Plus, the idea of Stan cameoing as a dead man doesn't seem right. His cameos are usually tongue-in-cheek, this would be too sad. Plus, the idea of him cameoing in a photo as a father figure to a superhero literally appeared in the most recent movie based on a Marvel comic to be released (Big Hero Six, where he portrays Fredzilla's dad).

Plus, I agree with @MexicanSuperman... I'd prefer Aunt May and Uncle Ben be younger - TASM was a step in the right direction on that front (plus Martin Sheen and Sally Field were great in those roles). Logistically, it makes more sense having them be closer to a parental age than a grand-parental one. Plus, having them younger makes Ben's death far more dramatically tragic (having decades rather than a couple of years robbed from him), which is much more fitting with Peter Parker's struggles with loss which seem to crop up so often (parents, uncle, girlfriend, best friend, mentor(s), even his daughter in some comics).

I think if they did give him a cameo as a named character from the comics, the best option (well, second best, because having him play Willie Lumpkin in Fantastic Four was one of the best things in that movie) is probably J.Jonah Jameson's father, John Sr. Partly because I think it'd be the best way they could pay homage to the fact that he wanted to play J.J. when he was younger (had a Spider-Man movie been made back then), and partly because I also want J.K. Simmons to return to the role of J.J., and I think it'd be great to see them interact with a father/son dynamic for even a single scene.
