@DJRock93 - Nope I kinda like it too. Might have improved the movie as the music was fairly bland.

Also this is trolling at it's best since suicide squad had an movie orchestral music in the final battle scene.

It's just exaggerated how much pop music it used.

@aresww3 - Agreed. Suicide Squad had an awesome soundtrack...only use of songs i didn't like was Eminem's Without Me which i never liked as a song.

Also after the Eminem song at the airbase, the tone changes and we pretty much get the orginal soundtrack orchestration for the rest of the movie.

@MrMajestyk - Yes, Eminem was a bit much. Especially how they cut it. It was very distracting. I also didn't like how ultra-sexualized they made Harley in that scene. It's like I get it, she's fine. I don't need ass shots and the camera caressing her body to prove that. One of my biggest gripes because it took away from an otherwise excellent and nuanced performance by Margo.

By the way I would rate Deadshot, Amanda Waller and Harley Quinn over any character in the MCU so far. Just better characters and more enjoyable to watch. Wonder Woman and Batman have also been far more engaging.

And Enchantress, she may have not been the greatest villain ever but I'd still take her over the bland bs villains of the MCU. And that's not me being bias. I love marvel villains in comics, especially Red Skull which they completely F'd up, but the cinematic versions are about as scary as my mother when she baking cakes on Christmas.
Third act of Avengers was really as cheap as SS as well. Not trying to start a flame war, but the MCU is not as glorious as everyone is making out. Half their films will be forgotten in years to come.
Whereas I think in future Suicide Squad and BvS will get a cult following. Especially SS. I see that getting a cult following like Big Trouble in Little China. Once everyone calms down and forgets about the marketing campaign that promised more Joker, I am sure people will start looking at the film more objectively. A fun, whimsical, darkly colourful joy ride.

@aresww3 - Great post.

Eminems Without Me during Airbase scene and Rolling Stones Sympathy for the Devil when we're first introduced to Amanda Waller were both too obvious and rather lazy songs to use. Rest of the songs though were great, the opening with House of the Rising was stunning in my opinion!

What i especially loved about SS is that it felt like i was watching an ADULT comic movie, it didn't even attempt to be kiddie friendly like most MCU films. Even when MCU do attempt adult themes, it feels on the level of teenagers trying to have deep philosophical conversations without really saying anything of real substance.

Also, SS had some of the best CBM moments i've seen, i loved the visual styles, colours, art direction and tone of the film. It felt close to a living breathing comic book.

I totally agree regarding Big Trouble in Little China, infact SS felt very similar to a John Carpenter movie as his films tended to be more visually orientated rather then focus too much on exposition and long drawn out Characterization. I got straight away who these SS members were, i didn't need them spoon feeding me.

Of cause there were many flaws but it did so many things great that i would rather focus on its positives then its negatives. I really enjoyed watching it and nearly every one i know had a great time watching it too.

I would have personally made JOKER the central Villain by having him steal Enchantress heart from Waller and using it to control her for some dastardly plot he'd cooked up. I really liked Leto's Joker, it was fresh, cheeky and creepy so i definitely want to see more of him.
