Man of Steel Cameo potentially revealed?

Man of Steel Cameo potentially revealed?

Who is the potential link between Man of Steel and the existence of a larger DC universe? Martian Manhunter? Flash? BATMAN?!!! Only one way to find out!

While looking through the Man of Steel IMDB page, I came across a potentially massive spoiler that DC fans who've been hoping for a larger universe might find super interesting. Now, I know IMDB should always be taken with a grain of salt, but it has been the site that leaked the appearance of Kryptonians Tor-An and Dev-Em, the appearance of a character named Whitney Fordman that is a wink to Smallville's Whitney Fordham, Micheal Kelly as Steve Lombard and the potential of Rebecca Buller playing Jenny Olsen.

Now, the site may have opened the door to the DCCU's wink that David Goyer, Zack Snyder and WB execs have been hinting at for months now. Not only that, the easter egg also hints that a DC property will be rebooted to fit Man of Steel's universe...

To all the Batmanites hoping to see Bruce Wayne swoon in at the end of Man of Steel, you're out of luck, the potential easter egg is none other than Christina Wren playing Captain Carrie Farris.

90% of all DC fans have already made the association to who this character just might be, but to the Marvel fans/non-comicbook readers, Carrie Farris, or Carol Ferris, is Earth's first Green Lantern(Hal Jordan)'s belle. The character was most recently played by Blake Lively in the 2011 Box Office disappointment Green Lantern,

But with WB already stating that Man of Steel's tone is what they wish the DCCU's tone to emulate, the light-hearted 2011 flop might not fit this world or WB's plans. Does that also mean that Ryan Reynolds might be out as Hal Jordan if Carol Ferris might be rebooted?

What do you guys think? Possible? Not possible? I mean, I know the name isn't a spitting match, but Carol Ferris was is an F-16 pilot who works with the U.S. military from time to time. Is known as one of the best pilots in the DCU, and Man of Steel seems to have the Boyscout coming to blows with the United States Air Force... The similarity between Carol Ferris and Carrie Farris is too much to just be a smoke signal, no?

6 more weeks till we know for sure! # Countdown to EPICNESS!

That would be one waste of a cameo. But remember, they described the cameo as eye popping....this isn't exactly eye popping and the general audience wouldn't know who this person is. They'll just think it's a regular bystander.

Yeah but IMDB has been spot on on all their potential castings.

I listed the list of people the site leaked and all have been confirmed or, as is in the case of Jenny Olsen, dodge and never given a solid answer.

IMDB has been good so far...and Carrie Farris? It's too close, too similar.

This would be pretty lame. At least 95% of the people who see the movie will have no idea who she is.

Yea and if she's not Blake Lively that will automatically make Green Lantern non-cannon. Which means that Ryan isn't gonna be Hal. Not saying that's a bad thing, but he wouldn't

Like I said, grain of salt, but if this is true, I called it.

gyasiman@ By that logic when Terrance Howard was replaced in Iron Man 2 and 3 that means Iron Man 1 never happened. Actors are switched out and replaced all the time and it in no way changes the continuity because the change isn't acknowledged.

I don't think so ... why would an unknown actress play one of the major supporting role of dc comic...

I could see this being true, it's small, slick, and won't take away from the movie. (Penis joke goes here). It would be nice too if this wasn't "THE cameo" but just something in the background for the fans to chew on. (Second penis joke)

Nobody, not even many comic book fans, know who that is, so that's EXTREMELY unlikely.

I'm not sure if this is actually the character of Carol Ferris, but the credit is authentic. If you take a look at Christina Wren's website, it talks about her being cast in the role.

The "eye popping" cameo is probably someone from the old Superman films. And Blake Lively is wayyy better fitting, she even died her hair for the role! Also, isn't it still just Whitney Fordman?

"that is a wink to Smallville's Whitney Fordham"??

I swear there are more articles about a possible
Justice League movie than there are about movies that are actually being filmed. If it is possible for fanboys to will a movie into existence then JL is definitely gonna happen.

To be fair, her website lists her as playing "Carrie Farris", so she very well may not be the same character.

This does give a little credence to my theory that Lennix is playing John Stewart, though. But even I think I'm wrong on that one.

"the potential easter egg is none other than Christina Wren playing Captain Carrie Farris."

And she's ...... who? Oh right, no one. And no, the similarity isn't enough to be Carol Ferris. If this came from a cast list, it probably has about as much validity as the listing of Heath Ledger as Jack Napier/The Joker on the TDK board early on or, my personal favorite, Rosemarie Harris as Aunt May/Carnage.

At any rate, either the author of the article is either incapable of spelling and/or fact checking, or someone is really grasping at straws over a vague similarity in names.

Jenny Olson? WTF!?

Ughhh that stupid blonde bimbo from that stupid TV show is the worst... definitely a major factor in GL's suckiness... not to mention that CAROL (not Carrie) has dark hair. I wouldnt mind Reynolds staying on as I feel it was mostly the script and director that really messed everything up in GL... I know Reynolds could pull it off with the right person handling the details.

Dont care to see Batman for a while after the ever-atrocious TDKR (unless he's presented akin to AA and AC), and NO BALE too.

While this does seem suspect, her crediting this role on her own website is kind of a big deal.

We all know Nolan/Goyer like to switch up names to keep it under fanboy's radars. Carrie Farris? Really? That is WAY TOO similar to Carol Ferris. Carrie can easily be a nickname, and Farris is almost pronounced exactly like Ferris so when they say her name all fanboys will almost automatically take notice.

I doubt this would be an after-credits scene though, just a nugget somewhere in the movie to keep our eyes pealed for.

IF this is accurate, then that means we will still be getting a Hal Jordan Green Lantern and they are recasting EVERYONE (hoping they keep Strong as Sinestro though) which is great news! RR doesn't want any part of GL anyway. So this would be great news.

Also if this is the case, then Swansick can most definitely be playing Martian Manhunter.

A stretch, yes, but this small nugget shows that anything is possible and they really want to make a JL film as badly as we want to see it!

I really hope this is true. Maybe she is Carol's sister. I loved Green Lantern and I don't care what anyone says. That movie was awesome. If they establish Green Lantern as part of the DC Cinematic Universe, that would save them a whole lot of time(and hate)from rebooting Green Lantern for the Justice League movie. They could easily make a Green Lantern sequel and blow it out out of the park/ save the franchise. Besides, it would make sense Carrie is Carol's sister because Carol is a pilot too and their family owns Ferris Air.
