Amy Adams On How Her Love Of Superhero Movies Led Her To MAN OF STEEL

Some more from the lovely Miss Adams on playing Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's upcoming Superman reboot here. The Trouble With The Curve actress reveals one of the reasons why she accepted the highly sought after role in the first place..

While doing press for her latest movie, Trouble With The Curve, Amy Adams continues to field questions on the role everyone really wants to know about - her upcoming turn as Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel. As expected, she doesn't give anything away plot/character wise here, but she does talk about one of the reasons she decided to play the part in the first place. Adams says she has always loved superhero movies, but suggests that being a "little pigeon toed", she knew she would never get the chance to put on the spandex and actually run around as a female superhero, so Lois Lane was the closest she would get! She also reiterates her feelings on the character herself, and working with Henry Cavill. Skip to the 7 minute mark for the Man Of Steel stuff..

Personally I feel there are quite a few superheroes Adams could play - granted maybe of the shorter variety! Anyway, we will all get to see her as Lois Lane when Man Of Steel hist theaters on June 14th, 2013.

you're right Kevberg, She was in the episode "Craving" from the first season...I absolutely love Amy Adams and can't wait to see her playing Lois Lane, and if anyone is still doubting her ability to play a character like Lois...check her out as Amelia Earheart in Night At The Museum:Battle Of The Smithsonian...her character in that was very headstrong and adventurous and willing to put herself in the thick of things...very much like Lois Lane...I can't wait!!

Not tryin to bring any hate, but they really shoulda got someone younger...she's 38 and I saw her recently on some talk show. She is definitely starting to show her age. Just sayin, for sequel purposes.

Does not look 38 at all. Beautiful.

@ccr I would disagree. I think she's still gorgeous. also, it's premature to talk about sequels. everyone was planning out the green lantern dynasty and look what happened to that. and if it took a while for a sequel and she didn't want to do it or the studio did feel she was too old, they can replace her like they did katie holmes in the dark knight.

@grandizer74

True, she could be replaced, but I hate it when they do that. Except for Don Cheadle in IM2, wish he would've been available for the first one.

A person is an idiot for saying she looks 38? Why is that such a big deal? She does look 38. That doesn't mean she doesn't look good. If you look at images that aren't all airbrushed and touched up, you can definitely see the aging and crows feet, but like I said, it doesn't make her less attractive. I think Diane Lane looks great no matter how old she is or looks. It's not like looking your age is a bad thing. They'll cover it up in the film, just like a lot of her photo images.

I think she is a good actress, I just don't see her as Lois Lane.

Maybe you don't see her as Lois Lane because she's 38. Lol.

And to add to my point, she's 9 years younger than Diane Lane (Martha Kent). Once again, JUST SAYIN.

Whoa. She was on Smallville. That's some crazy shit right there. But yeah, I still think she's a little too old to be playing the female lead in a superhero blockbuster. I'm sure WB's gonna want sequels for this.

Amy Adams is a great actress who can do "sweet & cute" but also "tough & feisty." I'm predicting that she will be the best Lois Lane ever on screen, followed by Erica Durrance. Margot Kidder was the worst -- Lois Lane should not be a ditz.

Margorat Kidder, the worst? The Original is always the best, the worst hands down was Kate Bosworth.

She definitely doesn't look her age. I'm fine with her looks outside of the hair color issue. You always expect a mature woman to play Lois Lane anyways (which was one of the many problems with Kate Bosworth). I think she'll do a great job. My only concern would be that she's too Disney cute. She can work around it but it could be distracting.

"there are quite a few superheroes Adams could play - granted maybe of the shorter variety!"

uhhh...
most superheroines are 5'5 to 5'7, Adams is 5'3-4.

no worse than 6'1 Henry Cavill playing 6'3-4 Superman
or 5'8 RDJ playing 6'1 Iron Man

@zachman2013

"The Original is always the best"

Who's your favorite Captain America (1990)? or Hulk (2003)? or Batman (1966)? or Judge Dredd (1995)?

and I'm sure after the reboots, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Ghost Rider, and Punisher would join the list too.

---
Also, Margot Kidder wasn't the first Lois Lane either. Phyllis Coates was, in the 1951 theatrical release 'Superman and the Mole Men'.

You are an idiot. Google things before you make a definitive statement like that.
