Brandon Routh Says He's "Moved On" From The Role Of Superman!

In this previously unreleased interview, the actor talks about moving on from Superman as well as how he thinks the role has affected his career...

Brandon Routh may have spent the past few weeks during interviews for Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World expressing his desire to return to the role of Clark Kent/Superman. However, in an interview that took place earlier this year during his time on the TV show Chuck, he wasn't quite so keen on returning to the role!

"I went through some anticipation for a while but it has been four years now so I have moved on to other things," he said when asked whether he'd be interested in playing Superman again.

I think I have found my place now," Routh added. "Playing Superman hasn't haunted me by any means. The challenge with that is a lot of people in the industry just stereotyped Superman Returns as a silly kind of movie. I have done quite a lot of roles since then, but not a lot has gotten out."

What do you guys think? Is it time for Brandon Routh to put Superman behind him once and for all or should he be Nolan's first choice when it comes to casting the Man of Steel in his planned reboot? Share your thoughts in the usual place!

If any of you guys think you've already seen this, just let me know! :) I'm pretty sure it's new information from an old interview though because I couldnt find any of this posted here or on another site.

Guys, check out my GREEN LANTERN: BLACKEST NIGHT Fan Cast! Just click the link! :D

As for Routh, with a decent director, I think he'd make a much better Superman. (although he's perfect for Cyclops if Marvel Studios had the rights to the X-Men!) The question is, with Smallville ending next year, will he be competing with Tom Welling for the role!?

Routh was a great Superman. He consistently gets the blame for Singer effing up that movie. It makes me sick.

Dude, Tom Welling is one of the worst actors ever. All I expect from him after Smallville is to find out that he got a job at his local Walmart.

I hated Superman Returns, but Routh had nothing to do with why I hated it. I thought he did a great job. Basically, he just copied Christopher Reeves, so I don't see why so many people are down on him.

Didn't this interview take place BEFORE he did Scott Pilgrim VS the World? Chronologically, it sounds like his opinion changed.

@Josh
Hey bud! Great article. I think Nolan should at least test him, I think Routh deserves that much at least. I may be one of the few who liked SR. I wasn't big on the super kid and the lame Lex Luthor (Spacey was good as always, just sick of the Hackman version).
I took SR as for what it was, a proper part three to the original Christopher Reeve films.

***To all you stupid morons on this site who insist on calling him "Reeves", HIS LAST NAME IS REEVE!!!!!!! Show some respect and get it right!

@ToughGrappler
Then don't come here if you don't like it. This site has great amounts of news, and Josh posts some of the best articles on here.

Ajax-Why would he turn down working with Nolan?

First..HE WAS NEVER OFFERED THE PART!

Also you asked..Where's the source?
and I GAVE IT TO YOU..NUFF SAID.

I'm NOT rational..I'm sure he is a fine person..
but he is NO acadamy award winning actor..

let me make this simple for you..

He is a FINE person..His acting is a serial killer.

by that I mean..messy, weird and shunned apon.
