As we know, lane was recently cast as Martha Kent in Zack Snyder's Superman movie. Speaking to USA Weekend.com the actress sounds like she is looking forward to playing the woman that will shape the young Clark Kent into The Man Of Steel.“It’s going to be a wild ride she told the site.
She also reveals that in preparation for the role she recently watched Snyder's
Watchmen again..
“to remind myself of what an audacious, brilliant man Zack Snyder is."
“I love 300 and I’m very flattered to play Martha Kent and live up to his vision. It’s pretty cool.”
“I’ve always wanted to raise a good man, I thought that was the biggest challenge a woman could have, and so I get the embarrassment of riches.”
Interestingly, when commenting on the role Clark's parents will play in this movie, the site adds the following..
They also bestow upon him a solid set of values that will help him later as he becomes the world’s greatest superhero, fights enemies like Lex Luthor and General Zod, and dons an oh-so-fashionable red cape.
Could they know something about the villains we don't from talking to Lane? Or are they just commenting on what are simply solid guesses and assumptions for now? I'm thinking the latter but I thought I'd throw it out there.
Along with Henry Cavill as Superman, Lane is the only other actor officially signed on for a role. Kevin Costner is rumored to be playing her husband Jonathan Kent and word is that Snyder, Chris Nolan and WB want Viggo Mortenson for the villain(most likely Zod) but we haven't heard anything solid since those rumors hit.
