#HenryCavillSuperman Trends On Social Media As Fans Demand A MAN OF STEEL Sequel

Fans once again made their voices heard yesterday, this time demanding that Warner Bros. finally consider a Man of Steel sequel with the hashtag #HenryCavillSuperman. Read on for further details...

No one really knows what the plan is for Henry Cavill's Superman as we've heard nothing since it was first reported that the actor is set to return to the DC Extended Universe in a series of cameo/supporting roles. Fans remain anxious to see more of him in action, though, and that was evident from a hashtag that started trending yesterday.

It all started when the TNTDrama Twitter account shared a picture of Cavill as the iconic DC Comics hero with the caption, "So we all agree, #HenryCavillSuperman."

That soon spiralled, with fans using the hashtag to campaign for a Man of Steel sequel (or at least more of his Superman). Unfortunately, the semi-official word on that is there are no plans for a solo outing featuring the character, something no one can quite figure out the reason for.

Cavill remains busy elsewhere, of course, with the lead role in Netflix's The Witcher and a supporting part as Sherlock Holmes in the streaming service's upcoming Enola Holmes movie.

On the plus side, we will see more of Superman in Justice League: The Snyder Cut, and that will hopefully generate enough chatter online to force Warner Bros.' hand and give the character his due in the DCEU. If nothing else, we need to see him square off with Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam, right?

If Henry Cavil is not going to be available anytime soon for a superman movie, then reboot. He was a good choice, but the material was mostly bad. Man Of Steel was a pretty good start, but BVS ruined it.

Reboot in a stand alone film, but leave the door open for a crossover with The Batman one day, maybe just put in a mention. thats all you need.

For director get Jeff Nichols, great director, and was considered for Aquaman, but didn't do it because it had to fit into the specific world of the DCEU, which was already established. Doing something more like The Batman, could allow him the freedom he needs.

Fact is Cavil does not have a contract with DC anymore and has one with netflix, so yeah they would probably need to do stuff around The Witcher's schedule. Might be time for a fresh start. Cavil has his franchise now

@dracula - Dude, I wanna start a hashtag Rebootwithnesuperman.
The idea that Snyder fans not supeerman fans want a Black adam vs Superman film just shows how off the rails they've gone with the character.

In the words of Christopher Reeves.

@dracula - I literally want to take these two videos and start a new hashtag. Nothing against Cavill but I have never heard him speak about the character in this light. Plus we have a new Batman as you said, just recast a young Superman. Then you can set up for Injustice with Cavill playing the evil Superman. Its by far the best idea to get all camps on side.

@aresww3 - Christopher Reeves, still the definitive superman, even if half his films suck, he always shined. Don't know who could play a new superman, but im positive Jeff Nichols would be perfect for director, especially if they reboot

just make sure to go serious, not dark, Snyder might not understand this, but there is a difference

@dracula - I wrote a screenplay on how I would do it, based on American Alien and Earth One. Where Clark literally has no idea where he comes from and neither do the Kents. They don't find him in a ship, they more find him in a field and his powers develop much slower.
This was the first 15 minutes of how I would do it. You'll see I agree with you. You can be serious like Forest Gump, while also not being dark and emo.

I'm getting voice actors together so I can do the whole thing in parts.

@dracula - By the way I'd go really different from Cavill. Someone a bit less handsome who could play both the goofy Clark and Superman. It is really hard to recast, but my top picks are.

Nick Robinson or Dan Stevens. Both good actors.

I think your director's choice is excellent.

@dracula - and last two Superman sequels suck

@dragon316 - agree, but Reeves was always great.

@dracula - reeves always has and always will be my Superman. With that being said, I’m inclined to ask who do you think can fill the shoes perfectly now that cavills gone ?
dracula
dracula - 9/8/2020, 1:55 PM
@xfactor - No idea, superman is one character that i have always had a hard time coming up with an original choice for

@dracula - same here man, same here. On the flip side to that, what do you think of the rumored David corenswet casting? I personally haven’t seen any of his work, but he does look the part and oddly enough kind of like cavill.

@xfactor - I havent seen him in much, but he has potential to pull it off, you should check out the netflix miniseries Hollywood, he was in that

If people were so happy with Patinson replacing Ben Affleck then why are people still rooting for Cavil, just replace him and make a real superman movie.
dracula
dracula - 9/8/2020, 2:40 AM
@JustALurker - yeah, plus Cavil has other commitments now. Plenty of young actors out there that could play the role and better directors

I don’t want a Man of Steel sequel, it’s not a great movie. It’s not the tone I want for the next Superman movie. I want a living Jimmy Olsen. I want a living Pa Kent (or at least one who didn’t die in such epically stupid fashion). But another Henry Cavill Superman movie I’m totally game for. One preferably by a director who loves the big blue Boy Scout and a movie where he fights Braniac.

@TheUnworthyThor - To be honest, Man of Steel was really bad. A soft reboot, like Wonder Woman or Aquaman, would be much better instead
aresww3
aresww3 - 9/8/2020, 3:18 AM
@TheUnworthyThor - Guys lets orqanise a counter hashtag. I'm truly fed up of this crap. WB is stuck in a vice grip cause of guys who are fans of Cavill, not Superman.

@TheUnworthyThor - That Pa Kent death scene is like 80% of the reason I absolutely hate MoS.
dragon316
dragon316 - 9/8/2020, 4:21 AM
@TheUnworthyThor - brainiac is big villain be seen in third movie it proabably be another lex fight villain as all Superman movies had and X-men always fight magneto as villain eventually
aresww3
aresww3 - 9/8/2020, 4:37 AM
@SnideCut - absolutely. lois lane was terrible as well.

I think the problem is no body acts intelligently in the whole movie.

Kryptonians, literally have figured out space travel, yet they decide to stay on Pandora Planet and die? Why?

Just every other thing people do in the movie is idiotic. Like Zod could have just gone to another solar system and find a new planet without intelligent life. But he chooses Earth? Why? And Superman doesn't even bother suggesting that to him.

Zod in Superman 2 had a much simpler mustache twiddling villain plot. Yes he was less complicated, but at least his plan made sense. That's mainly what i hate about Snyder movies. People act like complete fools so its hard to relate to them.

at least we have a tv show

Considering they brought back Affleck and haven't kicked Fisher and Miller, there is no need to cast a new Superman yet. Not that it's necessary though, since WB doesn't actually do anything with the character on the big screen anyway
