Following the third trailer for Man Of Steel EW had discovered some new facts about the Fortress Of Solitude, below is the leaked image of the Fortress Of Solitude and below that is some facts that EW have confirmed about the new movie.

"This object wedged into eons of arctic ice looks like an extra-terrestrial mothership, and that’s exactly what it is. Superman fans also know it by another name: The Fortress of Solitude."

"Man of Steel changes up the formula a little. Instead of building his own Fortress, Clark Kent steps into the existing home market — and emerges, as we see below, as Superman. The residents of Krypton are an advanced race, keep in mind. Their knowledge and exploration of the cosmos far surpasses our own, and when Jor-El launches his son to Earth, our planet isn’t unknown to them."

In theaters June 14th.

From Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures comes "Man of Steel", starring Henry Cavill, directed by Zach Snyder. The film also stars Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Henry Lennix, Christopher Meloni and Laurence Fishburne.

The only time he's ever built his own Fortress outside of the comics was in the Animated Series.

I like that this time we'll have a key and lock on the Fortress over an anybody can walk right in like Superman Returns and Richard Donner's movies.

I bet this ship belonged to an ancestor of the El family. How else could you explain Superman's suit being in this ancient ship when Jor-El is seen wearing his suit as he places Kal-El into his spaceship bound for Earth?
CavEl

Superman Returns, literally, had a walk right in AND Superman left the controls to the knowledge of an advance race of aliens right out in the open.

I [frick]ing hate Bryan Singer!

You do realize that this was a holdover from the Donner's Superman, yes? Donner, not Lester (as Lester had to use the Donner shot Lex footage seeing as Hackman was unwilling to return for Lester's reshoots after Donner was unceremoniously replaced). And given there were only two people who knew it's location outside of Superman, and he believed Lex wasn't getting out of prison any time soon, it's not like the door was wide open to anyone who didn't know the fortress was there.

So yeah, get over the silly Singer hate (at least for this reason). Interestingly enough, in the little seen extended Lester version of Superman II, Superman actually destroys the fortress at the end of the film.

I like this new change, it makes total sense for his fortress to be a ship, Since its the only logical way he could have a piece of krytonian history with him on earth.

"Superman Returns was good for what is was, Superman 5. Yes, the super child was a miss, but all in all, again for what it was, the film was decent."

Actually, it was Superman III 2.0. As far as Singer was concerned, Lester's Superman III and The Quest For Peace never happened. I can't begin to count the number of people who're hoping he'll feel the same way about X3!

I just like the decision to use alien looking tech and not crystals or anything resembling Donner. Leave the universes separate in terms of design.

I think this sets up for a potentially great Superman sequel involving Brainiac and Justice League featuring Darkseid.

As Kal-El fires up the computer systems it sends out a beacon that Brainiac picks up on. Originally thinking that this ship was lost Brainiac follows the beacon to Earth and gets sidetracked wreaking havoc on the earthlings both by physical force and through the internet and other data systems trying to find the whereabouts of the last son of Krypton.

Lex enters the picture when he gets upset that someone is trying to hack his company's systems and alters valuable info. He feels that if Superman didn't exist then Brainiac would not have screwed with him. Thinking he can mentally match wits with Brainiac, Lex decides to do a DC team up and from Brainiac finds out Sups only physical weakness, Krytonite.

To spice things up, this leads to a JL movie as Darkseid has been hunting down Brainiac since Brainiac tried attacking Darkseid's people. Seeing a good challenge, in comes Darkseid to cause misgivings to the earthlings as well.

Knowing the struggle he had with Brianiac and Zod some recruitment is done by Sups to form the Justice League. (There you go, Goyer/Snyder/Nolan. You can thank me when you make a couple billion dollars off these babies.)

This is the Superman movie I have been waiting for my whole life. I have always loved Superman and now I get to see him in action of the big screen. This is by far my most anticipated movie of the year.

I think that Jor El and Jonathan Kent will have the best dialogue in the movie because all the dialogue they show of them is just awesome.

I guess that is pretty cool. Jor-El trusts that earth will take care of Supes because he has already studied it.

For those unfamiliar with recent Superman comics, there was a point in Krypton's history when they were a conquering race. They were spread out throughout the galaxy and were feared and hated by many because of their awesome physical abilities. They had been on Earth, and were most physically powerful when effected by our yellow sun.
Most people don't know that they also gained other, different powers under different colored suns. I don't remember all of the different effects, but I do remember that they became powerful telepaths under a blue sun.
Then, there came a social change on Krypton and all conquering warriors were called home. After that, Krypton decided to cut itself off from the rest of the universe. That's why there aren't Kryptonians wandering the universe, despite the fact that they obviously had the technology for space exploration.
